That's kind of a Jewish invention, you know? It's even in the Old Testament, so no wonder it was transmitted to Christianity and Islam as well.

Of season 4? Don't worry, many people were kinda disappointed by the ending anyway. Though that's a matter of a personal taste - I rather liked it, eventhough I found the slight religious remarks a bit too "indiscrete"...

Oh, I hadn't seen that Alatriste movie before, seems interesting. And it reminds me I have to finally check that Tyrante el Blanco or whatever it was called (the one Cesar recommended at the E1200 board at the TW) - one of the very few movies that actually feature Byzantium, and even in its last days, kinda close to Tsardoms.

mmm...Alatriste is a much better film than that of Tyrant...it is an adaptation of a XV century novel, and on my opinion it was not a good movie at all. I personally think it was just a way to show a bit of soft erotica with loose medieval ambientation. It follows the plot of the original book, so don't expect a great historical accuracy (characters are fictional), and I personally didn't like the acting, nor the depiction of the byzantines. Maybe it was because I was a bit dissapointed because of I expected a historical film.
Also, it is the only film on which the almughavars have been depicted....but they warfare in the film is quie badly accurate. Here you have the trailer:

So, as historical film, it is not too good, expect just a decent adaptation of a medieval novel.

I guess it was season 4, they found the earth but it was poisoned by radiation, then they started to wander around again and after episode or two they stop playing it.

NVO and LDP ("Liberal Democratic" Party) scum were running Serbian Ministry of culture and all cultural institution in last 10 (I would say even more, but not so openly) years. So, considering their crusade goals (given by their forighn sponsors) of "denazification" of Serbia, "facing (Serbian people) with (their fashistic, genocidal ) past ", all newer Serbian movies are made by same clan of directors, actors, sponsors, menagers ( circling the taxation money among "us" ), and their dominant theme are Serbs as bad and ugly, Milošević black years (have you seen any movie criticasing post Milosević deviation of society?! ), or some trivial theme.

This movie is pinnacle from bad and ugly series.

Last really good Serbian movie is "Pretty village, pretty flame " (Lepa sela, lepo gore,) . The best description of Bosnian civil war so far

Oh I see Serbia too has like in Romania a "ministry of (un) culture."

It really makes me sick what the Balkans has become in large part due to outside instigation. People are not allowed to learn their own history because if they are taught that the "real history" is a threat to them. The only time the Balkans will ever be able to be stabilized is if willingly unites and becomes a Byzantium after Byzantium. Stop being little pieces to be traded between Russia, the west and whatever form the Caliphate takes.

And in this way we will make it known to the whole world that we are true Romans and their descendants, and our name will never die and we will make proud the memories of our parents." ~ Despot Voda 1561

"The emperor Trajan, after conquering this country, divided it among his soldiers and made it into a Roman colony, so that these Romanians are descendants, as it is said, of these ancient colonists, and they preserve the name of the Romans." ~ 1532, Francesco della Valle Secretary of Aloisio Gritti, a natural son to Doge

Just judging by the scenes that I have watched on the You Tube of this movie I can with absolute confidence state that this is the worst movie ever on the given period.Who the hell made this crap? Was the White Hand its director? Beside some nice titties here and there the movie looks like it was made within 100$ budget and some bean soup (pasulj) as payment for the movie extras. When it comes to movies like this the only thing left to to be said is: please!

its obvious that White Hand had nothing with that movie, otherwise it would be film about medieval Albanian Kingdom, with all "historical" albanian lands such as Kosovo, FYROM Macedonia, Albania etc...

Yeah, I know that from the thread at the E1200 board. But, still, a Western movie which has Byzantium in it has to be checked...

Wow, sounds real bad then. Though, are there any other movies of the given period? Besides Balkan ones, of course, though even then I think the only ones would be Serbian ones about Kosovo Pole (at least I haven't heard of Greek or even Turkish ones about 1453).

.Byzantium ?! Yes indeed we should all get back to our tracko-roman roots inspired by Romanian ideology

Look I have seen the movie few days ago and I mus say that it is quite disturbing and graphic and it shocked me to the core.Having said that the fact remains that that was its original purpose and for that I give it 10.The ending left me speechless. After I finished watching it I was quite upset but after I managed to get my thoughts around I immediately realized how powerful this movie actually is.It is not for everyone I must say. This movie will be a huge success and it will become an instant classic alongside movies like 'Salo'.The script is quite good and director definitely will make the impression on the movie critics. When you see movies like Hostel and their mindless violence and gore and than something like this you can see the difference between commercialized gore and artistic gore and horror. After seeing this movie I know I will remember it for the very long time because it truly disturbed me whilst movies like Hostel were forgotten within 24 hrs of me seeing them.So if I can describe this movie in few words it would be: disturbing, shocking, brave.
As for the comment above about best Serbian movie being "Pretty village, pretty flame"( it should have actually be called "Pretty cheesy , pretty lame") I could not disagree more.Above mentioned movie reeks of former Socialist Yugoslavia style of film making as opposing the new style of film making like the movies 'Klopka" (Trap) or 'Sisanje" (Skining) which are excellent and cliche free .I am afraid you are politicizing art of cinematography way to much. After all this type of industry naturally attracts more liberal types of people anyway.Having said that I can't stand LDP in case you are wondering.

i have to say that i agree with ajax
i haven't seen that movie, but i'm downloading it right now
movie talks about how people on high ranks in state are using their power for their brutal satisfaction. it is really true, and it happens a lot, we don't even have sense that it is happening around us. it is about government more than some brutal film.
about it's name, only fool would think that cause of title it means that serbs are that way. that kind of people already think by tv propaganda, but the one who watched that move would not think that way. it does not makes us bad, it is not stereotypical movie, and i can say it is great filmed, what a quality of picture! i have some foreign friends and they don't think of serbs as sick people cause of that movie, in fact, they think it's great, with great message.
and about it's brutal parts, well, even worse things happens. it's kind of movie which is not for everybody. the one who likes that genre should like the movie. it is stupid when somebody who likes "titanic" and those stuff makes review of this kind of movies. this movie is like death metal, not for everybody, only the one who respect that genre and are into it.

anyways, probably i'll watch it today

So, if I get it right, that "Serbian Film" is about a guy who's forced to do snuff movies? Something like a modernist cynical and respectively quite more graphical and disturbing version of "8mm"? If so, I'm starting to like our "Dzift" - at least that one was simply cynical, nothing more.
