Thespia was getting overcrowded, and Democritos was tasked by the King of Thespia with finding new land to be claimed. Taking 4 triremes and 800 men, Democritos set sail, past Sicily, past Carthage, and out through the straits of Gibraltar into the open Atlantic. Mere miles after setting out into open ocean, the Thespians were caught in a horrific storm. When they woke, they found themselves beached on a headland, the remains of their utterly destroyed ships all around them. Miraculously, they had all survived. Democritos ordered that camp be set up, and a safe perimeter established. After planting a Thespian Flag in the ground, he claimed it as New Thespia for his King.
The Greeks are a new people in this unknown land. But what will be their involvement in the War of the Ring? Will they side with the ever growing evil forces of Sauron, or the dwindling forces of Gondor, and Rohan? Will they even get involved?

Basically guys, this is one of those ‘what if?’ mods. If you’ve always wondered what it would be like to have a Greek hoplite take on an orc, this is the sub-mod for you. However, I’m also planning a number of ‘hybrid’ units, of the Greeks taking weapons and armor from the natives or vice-versa, arming friendly natives with their arms and armour. You can also decide which side you would like to take in the War of the Ring, or whether you’d like to stay back and…observe 
This mod comes with a warning, it has NOT been sufficiently tested, and may be quite buggy, which is why it is a beta. It is also not balanced, feel free to tweak the unit stats in the EDU to whatever you please, but if you find a good balance, please post it here
I need help for the next release. Primarily a good skinner/modeler and a scripter, but concept helpers/description writers, coders, balancers and 2d artists are of course more than welcome. The story I have put together is very patchy, and suggestions are welcome as to how and why the Greeks are in Middle Earth.
You don’t even have to come on full time. For instance, the donation of one unit to the mod would be greatly received, or half a script (If there is such a thing
)

| Installation instuctions: |
If you would like to keep your TATW mod folder clean and virginal (recommended), copy Sega/Medieval2 – Total War/mods/Third_Age and paste it into the same folder, renaming it ‘Third_Age_Thespia’. Then run the installer and direct it to this directory (Sega/Medieval2 – Total War/mods/Third_Age_Thespia)
If you don’t care (not recommended ), then simply rename your Third Age Folder ‘Third_Age_Thespia’ and run the installer in that directory.
REPLACE THE descr_strat (data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign) WITH THE ONE ATTACHED

| KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES: |
- Spartan Periokoi have a weird arm issue (if any modelers could help me out, it would be appreciated)
- Some units are missing parts from a distance. Hope to be sorted soon
- Unit cards for the Greeks on the battlemap seems to be missing the top 1/6th or so
- The reigns for both the Greek cavalry units aren’t correct
- The Hoplites actually look MORE armoured than the Armoured hoplites, and the Armoured hoplites are missing parts of their skin. I could easily fix this, but would prefer it if a GOOD skinner would help me out
