    Hopefully that worked...

    Ok, hit the end of turn and the game cycled through everyone until it arrived at Poland, then cdt'd repeatably and not been able to get past that point.

    Offhand nothing I could tell you - from your description its very likely that its an action by the poland AI which I can't see logged.
    If you use toggle_fow and follow AI movements you should be able to figure out what that action is and in most cases its enough to prevent it
    (by teleporting the "offending" character, killing, etc).

    Thanks, just tried that... the last 'unit' moving is a portugese non-general stack then it black screens and crashes...

    Teleport / character_move one of your armies there and kill them and see if it changes anything.

    just use

    character_reset "Character von_Name"

    and yeah, I mixed that up. Its move_character "Character von_Name" x,y,z.
