    Default Ancillaries - Traits that are unbalanced

    I just got torturer trait and it increased public order by 3 but also decreased it by 1, can't it just be increase by 2 instead of showing 1 decrease as it gets cancelled out anyway. I've seen others like this, maybe we should post a list of these kinds?

    If you had a official torturer in your town - breaking your fingers every time you did something wrong - wouldn't that cause a feeling of unrest?
    Which would be chanceled out at the same time because of better behaviour due to not wanting your fingers broken? It has both results, I see no need to add them together.

    AFAIK, many of the modifiers don't only increase/decrease public order.
    For example, law also decreases corruption.
    It's quite possible that the unrest has some effect beyond reducing public order, therefore it should be kept.

    you can have cumulative effects of public order... If you have a torturer there will be more public order BUT the unrest is brewing... if the leader/governor later raises taxes and/or get other rather naughty traits, the negative public order will add up and a riot will ensue....

    yes, you COULD just add positive public order, but the negative PO is to show that there is miscontempt in the settlement by the governance... and, as I just stated, the unrest factors keeps increasing, the torturer will NOT be enough...
