God save History International.

It's the only channel that is good for History. History Channel is crap and isn't even history. Ice Road Truckers? What that have to do with history? Axeman? I could just go to the wood cutters channel. I don't want to watch men cut wood.

I haven't actually watched the History Channel in months, and that was because I was staying at my friends house and he wanted to watch "Pawn Stars." I can abide that, at least it has some kind of history to it, but stuff like "Ice Road Truckers" just irritates me.

I agree, HI is actually worth something, unlike regular History Channel.

Two History Channel threads in Arts, on the same page even, and one in TD? Can someone please create and sticky a "TWC Hates the History Channel" so these threads stop popping up every week?

Yes, but they always talk about the roots of the 'marvel'.

I never understood how Salt, Truck stops, or Junk food are 'Marvels'.

Because "History's made every day", basically the same line of excuse as SyFy trying to remove any association the channel has with actual Science-Fiction. Or quality programming, for that matter.

I usually like when History Channel shows a show about space that isn't the usual "AN ASTEROID CAN COME TUMBLING OUTTA NOWHERE AND KILL THE HELL OUTTA US", but they're often on at night and I don't feel like staying up that late for some half-decent space program.

I saddly don't think my TV has History International.

yeah HI has some better shows then HC, although modern marvels and Engineering an Empire on the HC are really really good shows

Modern Marvels is crap. I watched it and got bored. I don't want to know a history of trains or cars. I want history of empires, and people. Civilizations and such.

Engineering an Empire can be given an exception. It is very decent.

The military channel is good too, but I'm not sure if you guys get that channel.

It wouldn't be to bad if they didn't throw in some God awful storyline involving that old guy, the bald guy, the douche, and the retard every show. Can't stand that part of the show, I just don't give a about them. Cut them out and I might actually watch it a bit more, well would if I still had the History Channel, damn Comcast.

And I don't get History International so once again, damn Comcast.

(I have Comcast and get all those channels ) And yeah, the story lines can be a bit silly, but I just ignore them.

What's History International?

Is that just where they put all the history shows that were made in countries outside the US (like Ancient Discoveries, which I presume must be because the historians are always from English universities)? Here in Britain they are all on the same channel, which helps to pad out all the dreadful American shows with some of the half decent European made ones.

Or am I confused?

Once MTV showed music videos and music related shows, but then they started showing reality shows. Sot hey made MTV 2 for the music videos...... now its for reruns of reality shows.

Its only a matter of time before HI becomes infected then they have to make a new history channel once again (if we are lucky)
