You commented in one of your threads about getting some help/input.
Some of us will find the giant new unit size settings hard to run - JMO.
Regarding units, I have 3 suggestions - humbly submitted if you will indulge me:
1. Roman Swordsmen. I DISmounted a roman cav unit, the one with the two-tone helm (gold lower, hammered steel crown) & they look GREAT. I think it's Ferres Med. or Aux Cav, but you'll know it by the helm as described.
2. Titus's Chosen Swordsmen: Mount them and use one colour (say Dacian Brown) for the gothic cav, and the Gaulic Green (with the braided hair) as the Warlord, andf they look fab (& terrifying as they crash through, hack-hacking with those cruel heavy swords).
3. Laca's Garumente Numidian skirmishers: a superb replacement for duller run-of-the-mill peltasts.
4.the new Horses lineup. Check out the new release, if you haven't already (It's under the TTO on an Archer thread but the horses are from a guy who's name I forget which will soon be widely known: WONDERFUL new horses, with new shades (eg black, red)...but I am certain you've already seen these, mentioned just in case.
5. GRASS! The grass mod that increases density looks stupid IMO & it REALLY slows the processor. With your newer unit size settings you will want to ease the processor burden where you can. My adivice: OLD Vanilla Grass with the GRASS DISTANCE under preferences set to 100. Looks GREAT & hardly a ping to the processor.
6. DUST! Again, to lighten the processor speed hit to allow more of us to play the larger unit sizes, editing the desc.particle.text for DUST from 8000 down to 2000 look nicer, allows you to see the famous SPQR skins clealrly and frees up yet more porcessor speed without any need to switch off dust&smoke.
7. OBVIOUSLY you've already got WEBBIRD's Gauls. Maybe the Braveheart skin would make a good Briton General?
But I do not mean to tell you much of this, but the few processor speed comments are valid for lower end machines like my tiered old beast.
Thank you for SPQR!
PS: Re sound modding, I took the horns from LOTR (4 different war horns) and applied them to Charges & it livens battles up to hear the horns sound; Onloy one actually works since I am clueless but two have unique horns signalling charges, and still the rally horn is cool, just anothewr suggestion.
Regards & Ave !
