    Default Tutorial on how to play as an emergent faction in M2TW

    This is a little tutorial on how to plays as Mongols, Timurids, Venice(crusades), Mongols(Crusades), New France, English Colonies, and the Barons Alliance(you always lose if you destroy England) this also works in any mod

    step 1
    Go to programfiles/Sega/Medieval2/data/worlds/campaign/imperialcampaign then descr_strat
    copy the emergent faction under playable then save
    step 2
    start up the game and select the emergent faction. When you start your screen will be locked. press Esc and save then load your save up this will free up the camera. move the camera to the place were the faction will emerge.
    step 3
    press end turn it will lock up at rebels when it locks go to load and load autosave this will free up your camera then endturn repeat this process until your faction emerges.
    step 4
    on the turn right before the faction emerges it will endturn like normal once you play as the emergent faction you will notice its basicly Barbarian Invaision Horde no upkeep and when you take a city you can sack and move on or occupy and it gives you the same message as in barbarian invaision "new homeland"
    the most easy is Venice(Crusades) the longast is the Timurids

    enjoy pwning everyone as the Mongols

    Hi! Great tutorial! But takes a lot of time with mongols, and more with timurids :/

    I know an easier way: modding! I already made 2 small mods (only 1 files to change so, dont mess up vanilla) which enables them from first turn I can make one if people wants

    hm very good but i like mine because it wouldnt it be a nighmare if you plays as the turks or the russians and on the first turn you lose a huge amount of land

    That wont be nightmare. The horde will arrive at normal time. In my mods, I gave a city with a full stack to them and the hordes were only reinforcements... I can give only 1 full stack to mongols or only 1 city..

    But what would be the best for them (Give stacks or city)

    Made it! link in my signature... Also I have an idea for you... You can make a save game when the horde arrives so players dont have to wait until it.. Just an idea

    Could make something to play baron's alliance in britannia campagin from the first turn with balanced forces though, not uber overpowered armies all upgraded?

    descr_strat.txt file is inside the imperial_campaign folder.

    If u can't find it then simply search for "imperial_campaign" without quotes and then simply put the descr_strat file there.

    I'm sorry but i don't know it should i think but i didn't made it hence only Supermoler can answer it for ya.
    I only gave the usage instructions which the downloader was confused a little bit about.

    Yes, I have an idea how to make them work: just delete the "undiscovered" at aztecs
    But they need some caravel, because AI will never go to America.


    I made one for you because its so easy and takes only 2 mins ^^

    The only two factions that are not advisable to convert to playable are the papal states and the rebels. Both have special functions that a human player cannot access\utilize.

    All others can be made playable by simply copying the faction name into the playable section and giving them an army and a region in descr_strat.
    The Aztecs will need to be 'unfrozen' in the campaign_script - but it's no fun being stuck on the other side of the map without much of a building tree, opponents or ships.
