    Default Attacking help?

Hi I never have problems defending but when I have to attack I find it very awkward and ending up losing a lot more men than I should. I find it really hard to micromanage all my units so is there any way to easily attack without losing more than half your men? I usually win but I then have to retreat to a home region to replenish.

Also I am not good at sieges I normally just make them surrender or wait for them to attack. Any advice for this? Thanks

Well, generally, attacking is more costly than defending.
I usually try to use artillery and light infantry to get the AI to run into my line.

For micro, I recommend using groups so you don't have to control every single unit all the time; for an example, there's a video of me showing that here
(you might want to turn off the music, people have been complaining about it ).

There's certainly no single way to "easily attack", but there are some guidelines I guess.
    Attack from the flank.
In any firefight, try to keep the local superiority or withdraw from it.
Light infantry and artillery are good targets for cavalry (don't run them into stakes though).
Keep your own lights and art protected by line nearby.
Use terrain: woods provide great cover; approach artillery from behind a hill so it can't hit you.

Keep in mind that attacking doesn't mean running straight towards the enemy like the AI likes to do, get into a good position before the assault.

I'm an attacker and I may be able to give you some tips, Utilize Cavalry, flanks and/or Light infantry/skirmishers. Use skirmishers to harass/distract the enemy while you move into a good flanking position. Keep an eye on the enemies Cavalry and Light Infantry, you could regret not doing so. Never underestimate your enemy. Be wary of flanking through forest near or behind the enemies main line, he could have hidden a unit or two in there.
