What unit size do you play at, and why?

Just interested to know what unit size you guys play at; larger units allow for more epic battles but are very resource intensive and can be a nightmare for navigation, especially in small streets of cities.

Smaller unit sizes don't have this issue, but look less 'grand'.

Also, what would you say is the most realistic unit size?

I myself usually play on Huge but I'm considering downgrading it for convenience and performance.

Huge. Yeah it can be a pain sometimes in sieges but my PC can handle it and the battles look more epic

1.3 * Huge excepts for units that already at max number.

I use large army for the look and its not too clunky like it gets with huge armies. I remember trying huge armies in Rome as greek. Spearmen that are supposed to beat everyone got slaughtered because they were impossible to navigate and get stuck in cities...

BTW, doesn't HUGE unit size setting lower the growth rate of settlements because they consume more men from settlements?

No. That feature was taken out from M2TW.

Hehe I used it to my own advantage. Recruited load of peasants in my overpopulated cities and dropped them in low poopulated cities. To increase the pop in low settlements. Rome Total War....

I did that, too. Pretty good way to get a small settlement to the next level quickly.

Normal. Haven't really tried the larger sizes, though I know my computer can handle them.
I'll try with Large for the campaign I'm starting now.

Luckily for me, I don't really notice much difference before the FPS gets down to around 16 or so, so anything above that is acceptable for me. On normal sizes, with everything maxed, I usually get around 24 FPS while looking at the action.

Usually Large but sometimes Huge... not only in cities does Huge make a difference though. On really big battles Huge units sometimes completely fill the battlefield leaving very little room for flanking which feels wrong. So probably more often going to stick with Large from now on.
