Default New Idea about using Dread Generals

So I just had a thought on using dread generals in battle in tandem with building Chiv generals.

*This is only usefull vs. factions not rebels.

    Here is the plan.

    1) To have my armies paired. For early game it will be 2 stacks led by 2 generals.

One will be building Chivalry, the other dread.

The Chivalrous general will fight the main battles against opposing factions and will always release prisoners.

The dread general will follow close behind and engage the enemy and always execute prisoners.

This system will build two generals at a time and should help keep your faction reputation on an even keel.

Releasing and executing prisoners back and forth should help both build both generals up in skill, and dread and chivalry respectively.

I am going to try this out tonight........

sounds good, you can get chivalry for ransoms too, but I think that is only if you buy back your own men?

If you have the generals to spare, at game start I'm always desperately short of leaders. I'll have all or all but one general conquering rebels (with the help of mercenaries), some going for chiv others for dread, but I never have enough generals to send 2 with each army. If you do, it'll likely cut your expansion rate badly.

I prefer dread on faction leader/heir and military generals, chiv on admin generals. Faction Leader will get dread due to agent use, so might as well start them on dread path from the start, heir too. 'Military' type generals, that are going to stay generals, are much better on dread because it causes the enemy to rout faster, which substantially reduces friendly casualties in nearly all battles.

For Admin types, the Chiv is awesome for population growth, especially in a castle to get it to Citadel level. This can substantially reduce the amount of time it takes to get a castle to Citadel. From game start, have a couple generals, admin types if possible, go for Chiv. Have them lead conquest vs rebels and have them Occupy when they win, you can pick up 2 Chiv very fast, 3 Chiv if you keep going. If you can get a pont or two of Chiv from a Crusade without going far from home, go for it. Then, park them in your lowest population City, set tax rate to Low, and leave them there until they get another 3 or 4 Chiv (can get 5 Chiv on one trait line this way, but the 5th point takes a lot of time). Get to an even number of Chivalry, as each 2 points of Chiv gives a pop growth boost. Then, move to a castle and leave him there until you can queue up the wall upgrade for Citadel, once you do have him move to another castle.

I was talking about 2 seperate armies. 1 General per army.

That way if the AI sends spam stacks at you two full armies are usually enough to fight them off.
