I already did that. It fixed the campaign map banners and the turn 51 crash, but the CS carrying the Papal banners in battle remained unchanged. That's why I was wondering if it was even a bug or not.

Yeah, seen it too....if you play a battle with CS you see banners of the papacy, not the banners of the generals but those of the units/captains. It's a small bug though.

It's not a bug. Those are the unit banners from RC/RR.

Yep, but what else do you want them to use? They are units fighting for their relegion.....

Not sure if any particular Country banners would be more appropriate. France, England etc.......

I suppose they could be changed, but they seem to work pretty well.

Aha, so it was the meaning to use those banners...that's a completly different aspect. Seeing banners of papacy in CS units....wouldn't you have thought it's a bannerbug if you see it???

There are lots of better banners they could be using. Most obvious of which should be the Kingdom of Jerusalem. As someone mentioned above the ones from vanilla look great for this. There are also variations of the Templar and Hospitaler banners that should be carried.

The Papacy banners look out of place, especially since those are the only banners that the CS are sporting.

If you want to change it:

You could search the Mod Workshop for topics about it.

Else you have to wait for a submod.

Oh man I would love it if someone could do a submod for this. I searched in the mod workshop but im completely mod illiterate and this site has never been terribly easy to use for me. My pretty much only problem with the crusader states is their standard bearers, that and for nearly the entire early era your fighting off of some mercenary scraps and a couple of guys with huge clubs

I thought it was a bug too... But isn't there a way to have the vanilla kingdom of jerusalem banners back? I think they look way cooler...
By the way shouldn't this post be in the bug thread or so?

I'm having the same problem. The Crusader States should have the Jerusalem Cross.

Yes a fix for the in-battle banners is really needed...

Whats the difference between jerusalem and knights templar? Which is the Crusader States faction?

I think jerusalem is the crusader states faction. Im not sure why the developers chose to use the papal states banner with them, the Pope called the crusades and supported them, but the Crusader States isnt directly tied to the papacy. They were the remnants of French crusaders who set up a government
