    Default Basic mod folder

    Hello,

I'm searching for a mod folder that has stripped down all the factions of vanilla, all the units, buildings. I've already tested the stripped down mod folder of alpaca and the Gigantus' Barebones kingdoms but one is too much stripped and the other not so much.

My questions are : is there a stripped mod folder that is between these two ones, if not how can I delete all these things ? (I know how to add these things but not how to delete vanilla factions etc...)

If u know how to add a faction then follow the same drill in opposite way to delete a faction.

No because a vanilla faction is involved in much more files that a new one added from scratch...

I don't agree with this point coz several mods use saxons and norman slots by completely removing them.

Or just modify the expandedd.txt and descr_strat.txt to get a faction in a game in a hurry

Yes that's a nice notion Sir Ron most of the mod developers have done it especially Russia=Novgorod.

If there is one and still functions, I have not found it.

Stripping down factions is a rather messy way of doing things. Some esoteric files like the factions_standings file refer to factions. Which means your log will be inundated by non-fatal errors. The adviser refers to a lot of buildings, same result there.
The best way is to use the data name as in the descr_sm_factions and then simply change the text files where necessary - usually referred to as 'cloning'. That will safe you a ton of work - have a look in my tut Creating a World - Adding a new Faction and you will get an idea just how much.
