    the V4 privateers have been drastically changed, IIRC. There is very little chance this submod is going to work on V4 unless you're willing to put in the work to make it so.

    Yeah, the v4 Privateers are nothing like these at all. If you want to play this, you'd have to download v3 and this, implement the changes for v3, and then manually overwrite the models and textures with those of v3 (or replace the unit_models entries with those of v3). It's a ton of work, and quite frankly the new Privateers are amazing and I can't see why you'd want to replace them anyhow.

    Those are old v3 models, I don't recall what the new marine model even is.

    They look like this, like actual british marines, with the red uniform, which imo does not really feat for mercenaries/pirates.

    Ah, I see. Well, I don't think any other units use that model, so you could copy them from v3. However, it would look better to edit the skin and make it whatever color you want. Additionally, the point was that, while the privateers start as pirates and rebels, with time they become a civilized naval power, hence the top-tier units not looking piratey at all.
