    Icon5 Possible to add or train "nightfighter" trait?

    I don't want to cheat but is there a way to teach nightfighting or at least increase the chance of someone gaining it? I am playing as Venice and out of 10+ generals only one has Nightfighting...and he is 65+ so he isn't of much use. There are a ridiculous number of rebel armies in Greece so I would like to take them out one at a time, but I don't have anyone capable...

    My princesses did marry a Plantagenet and a Capetian, both of whom have the nightfighting trait, but they're currently quite far from Greece, having been married in France...are certain factions more likely to have the trait than others? I found it odd that both of my "married-in generals" have the trait and just one of my Zenos have it.

    Oh and FWIW, the one Zeno who has the trait and the Capetian are both Administrtively Minded, so it isn't limited to people who are Military Minded.

    Afaik it is tied to another positive command trait. GoodCommander 2 or similar leads to chances to gain it.
    Can't look it up at the moment - I suggest you check the trait file yourself. Its Export_descr_character_traits.txt in SS6.3/data, triggers are in the second half

    So the only way to get it that isn't 100% random, is by having 5+ command, and fighting night-battles.

    Thanks, so it is can be triggered by winning a battle or a major victory or something? It isn't like you can sit them in a castle and expect them to learn it, unless they already have it from birth. That said, it looks like it can also be triggered based on certain qualities that CAN be increased by sitting in a castle or city with schools.

    Yes, look at the first trigger. If a general has 5+ command, he has a 25% chance each turn to get Night Fighter.

    give_trait "character" NightBattleCapable 1
