I might release more, but the mod is too uncertain at the moment and much organising is needed.
Omfg, I'll definately play as the Dorians first!
Those Athenian Sons of the Soil sound awesome! Can you please provide the background story on them? A description of sorts?
"The Athenians lay the claim to being the only true Greeks in existence, as all the other Greeks (according to the Athenians) migrated from different lands. The Athenians however have a different history: their first king, Cecrops, had no parents, but was instead a 'son of the soil' - he just sprang up out of the Earth. After a competition to decide which god would be Athen's patron (either Poseidon or Athena), Athena won, as she had been the first to plant the olive tree, and so the city became known as Athens" - Zenith

We don't want to give everything away just yet so rest assured there are surprises left.
Is their going to be a landbridge between greece and Troy because AI doesnt attack by sea much?
Dear Zhuge
at some point you wrote (I don't know how long ago, but I only just saw it now):
"The 'Greek barbarians' the Dorians, the people who would become the Classic Greeks."
Well, the Dorians did not become THE classic Greeks. They were present in classical Greece of course, but they were not alone. The Greeks at the time were divided into major tribes, one of which was the Dorians, but they coexisted with others.
So, although correct, your comment was wrong in that it expressed itself in an exclusive manner.
PS. I'm Greek. And yes, I claim a Dorian descent :yes
Take care
Thank you for you comment. I will not pretend to be an historian of the era. Zenith darksea is our historian. All i am aware of is that a `horde` of northeners claiming to be the decendants of heracles and with iron weapons invaded and conquered most of greece. Later as far as i`m aware the classic era spartans boasted about being of dorian descent. There are very little records of them and there was nothing to go on historically so the units we have are somewhat fantasy units to fit the more romantic view of barbarians.
Feel free to correct as needed, this is just my basic knowledge, and lik i say i know very little about it.
Bit off-topic, that. Still, all I can say is that when we re-convert the map to BI (we did it already, but our scripter vanished, taking the work with him), we shall consider land bridges fully. We haven't yet made a decision about this.

I think it is.
We will have the nations either side being very aggressive to each other. In fact most nations except the hittites will probably have a large degree of agression towards Troy because of it's superiority - in wealth above all else.
Don't forget that in Rome the scipii and brutii invade sicily and greece, albeit an uncertain series of events.
