Best mod to SS imo. Any news or progress or what do you do in next update?
Popping in to say the units look great! The Sergeants are pretty hilarious though, their spears have twice as much reach as the humble spear militia's - I'm sure it's very useful against horsemen! Love the way they look in schiltrom.
Are you thinking of changing any stats? The Order Militia look odd with their large shields, as large as other swordsmen (shield: 5) but have the same stats as their little buckler (shield: 2).
You can fix the Archers model change by extracting the joined file in ss6.3/data/unit_models folder![]()

HeheIf only someone *wink wink* would do something about Hungary's GOD AWFUL pink salmon Pavise spearmen/militia. They stick out like a sore thumb amongst the glorious deep reds and blacks of the rest of the roster.Honestly, I really wonder if the new red/black with esoteric symbols are historically accurate for Hungary... I'm not sure I like them or not but I agree they need a serious overhaul. The magyar nobles are... ugly in my opinion.
Order militia are quite average but good for their price. The idea of switching some defense to shield armor is goodAww, I liked the thought of them being a peasant/militia counterpart to swordsmen. Well there are sword brethren, but those aren't quite as low-quality. Gotta get some untrained chaps in there. Order Militia < Sword Brethren < Foot Ritterbrudder!
Spear Militia meets Sword militia =p Was thinking of adding 3 shield and taking off 3 defense. Really only helps them against archers, but still ... (they only get 1 armor upgrade? Compared to spear militia?)
I always thought the tiny 2 shield bucklers were silly. Yeah, they're fodder, but I'd rather give my men big brave shields (pavises!)I think I might rework a little the armor values of Foot Halbbruders, because I put all the shield points in defense value, and I'm afraid it makes them overpowered

I personally am not one that overly cares that much for historical accuracy. My problem lies in the simple contrast of having the majority of hungarian units look a certain fashion (excluding the basic brown levies) and then having the mandatory spearmen (no army is complete without them) all having this terribly contrasting colors, that are quite frankly... bleh. too be even more precise the red of teh armor or cloth that the soldiers wear is fine, its juts those damned pavise!
oh and one more thing regarding hungary. the officers need a retouching.

Donno, well the militia upgrade to leather (that somehow is mail), and that's it. Compared to spear militia that get all 3 upgrades, they don't fare so hot, even if fighting spearmen or other infantry! Against swordsmen, having a spear but 4/5 more armor is probably an advantage, and needless to say against horsemen (or taking arrowfire). Still, they are good fodder =p
The thing with armor and defense is armor helps against arrows, defense doesn't, but at the same time AP halves armor but not shield/defense

another easy suggestion, the current Lithuanian roster is really short on city units in the early era, one easy solution is to simply edit the EDB slightly and make the Polish Crossbow militia avalible in their city roster. nothing too flashy but certainly helps to have their city have at least ONE range unit of some use.

I'd think they would be more likely to have archer militia like the Russians have. Hmm (don't really like it, since you can get levy archers more and cheaper)
I agree that Lithuania miss ranged units in settlement's
"Lithuanian regular spearman" use "sword" animations instead of spear ones.
I don't know if this is intended, a problem with your mod, or if its a 6.3 issue but it juts ends up looking clumsy when they are fighting like they had a sword instead of spear![]()
They used this animation since 6.1, I don't know if it's intended or not but I thought I changed this in the modeldb file![]()
