Default Teutonic Order - how does it work?

I've started a new campaign as the Teutonic Order and the first thing I see... No family tree. I guess this is intentional, but how am I to get new generals? Will I be stuck always with one Hochmeister and one Councilor? I really do hope they can at least adopt.

You can get new generals through adoption and 'Man of the Hour' events.

Exactly. The TO was an order after all. At least you don't have to worry about infertility

Another good thing about the Order is that new Grand Masters are elected and you don't have to worry about a royal bloodline dying off.

You could give them a family tree, I have it it in the past..well because I like the family tree idea.

How do you go about adding a family tree? Historically inaccurate or not, I have some ideas for a Teutonic campaign I'd like to try out.

Teutonic order campaign mean fun, fun, fun. Even without any general things works, you just need a heroic victory, and TO at heroism are epic.
Funny is to see in the brothers 1 byzantine general bribed or a turkish one.

I think just adding some relatives in descr_strat should do the trick.

you would also have to change the descr_sm_factions.txt and go to the T.O. and under

    prefers_naval_invasions no
can_have_princess no <-------------- and this if you want to have princesses
has_family_tree no <--------- change to yes

You know I think the venetians and genoese should'nt have family trees either, since they are republics. Is there any sort of sub mod to change this?

Not for 6.3 at least. No idea about earlier versions of SS.
