War of Hyrule

Game Description

• Large Mafia game with 48+ players
• 48 hour day phases, 24 hour nights
• Investigations are not 100% effective
• Write ups will advance the storyline, and will include images and music
• Storyline based on in-game achievements
• No pure vanilla roles. All roles, at the very least, have a unique character.
• Secrets and hidden twists!

Rules

1. Private communication is forbidden! No discussing the game outside of this thread. This includes PM's, instant messaging, chats, phone conversation, texts, emails, talking in person, ect. The only exceptions are GM sanctioned quick topics, and the Hyrulian Mail System. (See below.)
2. The Hyrulian Mail System - Through rain, sleet, snow, and hail, we deliver your mail! Once each day phase each player may send a letter, via remake20, to another player. Warning! The HMS, while reliable, is not responsible for lost letters, or letters falling into the wrong hands.
3. You MAY publicly role reveal, if you choose. You may quote your entire PM, if you like.
4. Participation: You will be expected to, at the very least, vote once per day phase, and use your ability every night phase. Failing to vote 3 days in a row may result in meeting the Wraith of the Goddesses (removal from the game) or being replaced. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to participate for an amount of time, please contact the GM's so accommodations can be made. If you are unable to continue to play, please speak to us so we can find a replacement.
5. Unless otherwise noted, please send all orders to remake20. Orders sent to wideyedwanderer will not be counted. This makes it less confusing.
6. There is a 10% chance of a player surviving an attack and being injured, instead of dying. An injured player loses their ability, but may still vote. Injured players heal in three days.
7. Dead players may no longer play in the game, but will have access to a dead players quick topic, where they may continue to watch the game.
8. Vote Procedure: To vote to lynch someone, post: Vote: wideyedwanderer. To change your vote, post: Unvote, Vote: remake20. Please do not edit your post to change your vote. Please use proper voting procedure, or it will not be counted. Remember to bold your vote!
9. Do not intentionally alter the vote tally. You may post unofficial tallies, but the GM's will post official vote tallies.
10. If you feel the GM's have made a mistake, please speak to us in private.
11. The GM's reserve the right to make changes to the rules, or roles, as we see necessary, in order to sustain the balance and fun of the game. But hopefully it won't be necessary.
12. Intentional role changes may occur for some players, as part of the design of the game. You will be notified via PM by wideyedwanderer of any role changes.
13. As with all mafia games, it is meant to be fun. So please, use good sportsmanship. You will be notified privately by the GM's if we feel you may be personally attacking another player, and if the act continues, you may be banned from this, and future games hosted by us.
14. Breaking the rules, whether intentional or not, may result in punishment, possibly a ban from the game, and having your name on the *metaphorical wall of shame. So read the rules carefully, and play honestly. It's more fun that way.

Background info about Hyrule and the people who live there.

Races of Hyrule


Hylian


Hylians have always been the most powerful race throughout Hyrule. They look a lot like humans, except their ears are long and pointy. Hylians were the first to establish any sort of organized civilzation within Hyrule, and they tend to live in largely populated areas such as Hyrule castle markets.It is believed that Hylians’ large, pointed ears are as such to allow them to hear the voices of the Gods.


Kokiri


Living in the Kokiri Forest protected by The Great Deku Tree, the Kokiri were the only race that did not participate in the Great War. An ancient legend tells that if a Kokiri leaves the forest, he or she will die. Every Kokiri is born with a protecting fairy. These people are said to never grow into adults, and thus, they remain as children for their entire lives.


Gorons


The Gorons are a rock-eating people who live in the mountains. They are capable of withstanding extreme heat, including staying in volcanoes for extended periods. They are naturally tough, and skilled in fighting techniques, such as rolling into a ball to crush opponents and barriers.


Zoras


The Zoras are a powerful, but at the same time very vulnerable race. They are extremely good swimmers, but they need water to survive. In Ocarina of Time, most of the Zoras died when their home, Zora’s Domain was frozen during Links seven-year sleep. The Zoras have also appeared as an evil race, but then they went by the name “Zola”.


Gerudo


The Gerudos are a lone people living in the desert of Hyrule. They live in fortresses, and are known as thieves. Nearly all Gerudos are women. In Hyrule, a male Gerudo is born every 100 years and this man is destined to be the leader of the Gerudos until a new male is born into the tribe.


Sheikah


The Sheikah, also known as ‘The Shadow Folk’ are the people chosen by the gods to protect the Triforce and the Royal family of Hyrule. They looked just like Hylians, but bigger. During the great war all the Sheikah except Impa died. The Sheikah built the Shadow Temple and Kakariko Village.

The guards sat in their room at the castle barracks. It was a boring late afternoon, and they spent their time playing cards, and telling stories.
“Man, I'm SO bored... Things would sure be more interesting if there were more...troubles in the world... Hey, that's just between us, OK? Anyway, maybe we can let off some steam by breaking these pots...
“Have you guys been to the Happy Mask Shop that just opened in the market square? Everyone is talking about it! My son pesters me for a popular mask, but I don't have time to go there. Well, I have no choice, this is my job...
“It sure is dark outside. It's not even late, yet. This weather sure is strange...
“Maybe some ghosts will come out, or something. I'm really interested in ghosts! Studying them is a hobby of mine, but you never know...the time might come when that knowledge might be useful.”
But as they were playing, the horn that signaled they were needed at their posts sounded. They dropped what they were doing, grabbed their spear, donned their helmet, and ran to the courtyard.
“The castle is under attack!” cried voices. “The king is in danger!”
The soldiers of Hyrule ran to the king's chamber. There, they found remake20 lying on the floor.

He was innocent!

Viscen, Captain of the Hylian Guard, ordered his men after the assailant.
“The traitor is leaving the castle! We must save the Princess!”
The guards ran through the Castle Town.
“This way!” shouted one of them. “I know a short cut!”
They swerved through a back ally. Mamamu Yan and her Richard watched from the confines of their house as the chaos swirled in the world outside. The owners of the Bazaar and the Medicine Shop quietly looked on.
But as the guards ran they noticed something lying ahead. Their stomachs dropped as they realized it was one of their own.
“Ugghh...”
They bent to hold him.
“Ganondorf...betrayed our King... Impa sensed the danger, and escaped from the castle with our Princess...I tried to stop Ganondorf's men from chasing them...but... The Princess was waiting for a boy from the forest... She wanted to give something to the boy... If you see him...tell him...”
“wideye...” The soldiers looked helplessly as their comrade drifted into the next world.
“...”
