Advanced Ports

After a long hiatus from all things Total War, I've been once again dragged back into playing SS (6.1) due to the crap replayability of every other game invented.

Question is...

I always play late game era, but always lose interest around 1300 and start playing another faction. My question is, am I missing out on anything important? For example, are there any world events that let me build more buildings much the same as the Gunpowder event does? I'm specifically wanting to know if there are any more advanced ports that allow me to create more trade routes and those wicked 15th century ships.

Nope there isn't, the most advanced ports you can get is naval dockyard wherein you can create gun holks, lanternas, carracks, caravel, galleass, and grande carrack. As advanced as your going to get in this game, you want naval fighting you have to go to Empire Total War for that. I wasn't a fan of that game. Hence is why I am still playing this till Shogun 2 comes out next year.

Thanks, the advanced ports possibility was just one concern. I was pretty much wondering if anything of real importance happens after 1300 that I'm missing out on. Turns out I'm not then

perhaps because of the War on Terrorism: total war post... that might have risked start a flaming...

Not forum nazis, forum moderators. The posts being made were off-topic and had nothing to do with SS. Discussions about politics etc have their own forum on TWC.

Part of the job of forum moderators is to spot threads/posts that will cause trouble/flame wars and act pre-emptively to keep the forum calm.

Seeing as no-one seems willing to keep this thread on topic, it's going bye bye now.
