    Default Confused at installation

    Hey currently downloading this mod however I'm downloading the three separate files and I've so far downloaded 2. I'm not so sure where to put them the first one which I have downloaded I have put in to:

    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods

    this then created a SS.3 folder and with the second download I extracted it to the following:

    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\SS6.3

    I was wondering if this is right because I think I might have to put them in one of my kingdoms campaign but I'm not so sure

    thanks

    Download all 5 parts to one place.
    Download the 6th part to the same place.
    Run the installer that is the 6th part.
    Install to default folder.
    ???
    Profit.

    Not with the alternative installer he is apparantly (3 files) using. If he is using the normal one you are of course correct

    You can move the files later - its easer to install them all in the same folder but don't worry if you mix it up as you can move the files later without problems.
    Just the uninstallers and the start menue links might be a tad wrong... nothing major. Have a look at Running Stainless Steel with Steam on the prefered method and let us know how you get on.

    Gerak,

    Have you taken a look at the Steam Stickie above, you may find some useful pointers?

    Topics merged - and your issue is a steam issue. One day I'll go down to steam headquarters whereever that is and demand backpay for online support...

    How to solve Steam issue : game not available?

    To know what to fix we need to know what you did, which steps you took and which way you used to enable the game for steam.

    well ive extracted all 3 parts to the mods folder and they have all automatically merged together after i then renamed my americas folder and named the SS folder to americas then set my launch code to
    @mods\SS6.3\default.cfg
    after i then ran kingdoms from the steam library

    Your mixing methods. Why? Currently your starting AMERICAS if anything.

    If you are having trouble running Stainless Steel on the Steam version of M2TW, here are some solutions to help.

    For running 6.3 with Steam use the following
    1- In the m2tw folder you should see 3 exes. "medieval2.exe", "kingdoms.exe" and "launcher.exe" (should be steam/steamapps/common/medieval ii total war/)
    2- Create a folder called "backup" and place the "launcher.exe" in that
    3- Rename the "kingdoms.exe" to "launcher.exe"
    4- now go to your "Steam Games" list and right click kingdoms, select "properties" and then "set launch options"
    5- In the box that appears paste
    @mods\SS6.3\default.cfg
    6-Now save that and go back to your games list, click on kingdoms then launch, it should bypass the launcher and take you straight to the mod.

    always launch your game from Steam. Do not use the 6.3 icon.

    or go here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...59#post7808159

    For other Stainless Steel versions use...
