    Default FAILED[Citizen]FabianScarrus (patron: Bokks)

I proudly present the member FabianScarus for consideration as a citizen of the TWC and Curia.

I believe Fabian exemplifies the greatest traits that we would hope to have in a citizen (and within ourselves) by his constructive posts, his even-minded way of posting and the friendly demeanor with which he interacts with the members around him.

A prolific poster, he has achieved over 1,300 posts in the four months that he has been a member. Far from simply being an incredibly active account, however, I have not read a post of his that does not present the well rounded member we would all like to see in the Curia, and I do not believe that his "lack" of time being a member here within the TWC should in any way be counted against him, especially as he had been--like so many of us--a visitor to the site for a period of time before joining properly. Each and every one of his contributions have done their part to make the site more friendly and interactive.

I myself properly came in contact with the member Fabian Scarus by his post regarding the information of the Great Siege of Malta, which he has hyperlinked within his own paragraph quoted below. I was very impressed not only by the writing and content but by the fact that it was written by so young a member, and instantly felt that he would make a very good citizen should the opportunity arise. Since then he has done nothing to reverse that opinion I have of him, but has in fact only strengthened that assessment.

Meeting every requirment set forth by the Curia and the Consitution and presenting good standing before the moderation branch, I am more than happy to present FabianScarus's candidacy for your review and consideration. I believe that upon review all of you will conclude, as I have, that he will make an excellent addition to the citizen rank.

    FabianScarus
Hello members of the Curia and councillors of the Consilium de Civitates, I am Fabian Scarus. I arrived here on the TWC because of the downloads, and after some time of downloading I started to look in the VV section, being history buff and all, and I was liking what I saw, the forums seemed neat so I made an account and joined. Been here ever since.
Mainly, I'd like to help fellow history buffs in research and write history articles for the community, expanding VV, as well as participate in the Curia.

Currently I haven't written many articles but I am currently working on a Siege of Acre article.

The articles that I have written are as follows:

    Great Siege of Malta

Siege of Rhodes (1522) with help from LordFarwell and Carl von Döbeln

I intend to continue in my research and in writing my articles.

I've also done a bit of modding work with keneticpest on Aeger numerus bellum, a mod for Rome: Total War, as a graphic designer (faction symbols, banners ect.)

    Thank you,

    Fabain Scarus

I'd like to see a bit more from the modding end of his contributions. 2D art is always an essential but I see only a few banners/faction symbols as the mod is only a month old. This is a grand start (Lord knows I couldn't do it) but it needs to develop and expand into a fully fledged alpha at least. Even contributing to other mods would be a great gesture of willingness to help the community.

Not impressed at all with his articles to put it bluntly. I know that this will sound harsh but after being grilled relentlessly in my own search for a history degree it requires hours and hours of research and much more then a few courtesy paragraphs and some numbers (stats) on a page. Stating the what isn't enough to produce the why. If you're going for a history buff nod then more's required then just a love of history. I'd suggest several more articles of merit (and primary sources instead of novels!) before re-applying.

I encourage FabianScarus to continue his efforts in both modding and article writing and hope to see this feller a citizen after some seasoning.

Patron should make no difference. In my opinion his mod is still early in development and so far he hasn't finished enough. I'm leaning on a no.

I appreciate your frankness... So in return I'll say that in this case it gives me an emphasis to double check my findings...{once I get them that is}.

I will side wih the Curator on this one. The History articles are a start on a contribution and I would encourage the applicant to put in the time there if it is an interest. This is not uni, but... The modding side also shows great potential, but again it seems to be a bit early.

I like all of the potential here, but it is a bit ealy to vote yes.

    I like him.
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

The applicant is indeed off to a good beginning, but his journey has just begun. A sustained effort over time in a few areas of the applicants interests should garner the prize. There are many opportunities in...

    1. Content Staff atm is looking for freelance writers. Many of the recent applicants have joined content staff...

    2. Historical Fiction http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1357

    3. Tale of the Week http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=802

    4. Vestigia Vetustatis A place to discuss history. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7 As fond of history as the applicant is, investment here should come naturally.

Overtime the applicants quality and merit will be known. Regrettably that time is not yet, voted No, for now...
