I didn't know the computer could do that. As soon as my heir comes fo age, I marry him off right away to make babies and declare war. I always make my heir a fighting general. What about you guys? Do you like to have him sit in the castle or city or fight wars?
I always get Princes offered to my Princesses but never the opposite. I just try to marry my heirs with a fitting princess (+6 or more charm) if there are any nearby, and ofcourse with only a princess of a faction which I plan to maintain an alliance for a long term. Otherwise I just marry them off right away to produce children.
My Heirs are always Great or Legendary Commanders. Once they become Kings, they fight only vital battles, which I need to defeat more enemies with less men, battles often lead to Heroic victories. My Generals fights minor and medium battles and/or Crusades. I always keep 3 main Commander, King, Prince and another family member with high Command rating, and I do my best not to lose them on the battlefield, they always fight however rather than watch the battle from afar but I won't throw them foolishly on the enemy. When they charge in (usually accompained with 3-4 units of Hvy Cav.) they almost always land the finishing blow which breaks the enemy. Rest of the Generals are expendable.
With the heir ancillary mod (by Amaranth), you have to be careful not to let your heir die before your king or the computer makes a seemingly random choice for your next heir. Not that it stopped me from getting my heir killed with Aragon just now.
If you have a strong nation, you can send diplomats to those princesses and ask them to marry your heir. I've found that it you are strong enough, the other country is actually pretty willing to do it (assuming you are on friendly terms). I once sent a princess to another princess and I had the option to marry her princess to my heir or my princess to her heir.
I believe you have to help the AI with that decision. I can't remember having a marriage alliance offered to me either but then I never waste much time in getting the heir/princesses married.
If you are referring to random ladies to marry your generals, they only appear if you have less generals then a set limit I believe. The same with how children are born.
If you are referring to princesses from other nations, I believe your to-be-married general (Unmarried Faction leader or heir) must be on the same landmass as the princess (Not an island) and you must offer through diplomacy. The AI must have an unmarried Princess though.
More then once I've been offered this from the AI, but that is in the late game if my empire is powerful, and their nation is also powerful but hated by most people![]()
I'm not offered. I forcefully make the princess my heirs wife.
Or i just send a diplomat on Princess hunts and find one with a lot of charm and marry off.
Got nothing...
I married two princesses to my faction heirs so far, both came from vassal countries and I had to pay a little extra.
Oh, for Heaven's sake, now you're being deliberately stupid.
