Empire: Total War AI Tweeks
I wish Empire: Total War would finish its AI tweeks. In my opinion Empire: Total War is not version 1.6 untill it says version 1.6 on the version number from with-in the game. Besides Empire: Total War still has AI problems; example: path finding; units get clumped arround buldings, units move back and forth in place with no destination, units form single file lines.
I would be much more inclined to play Empire: Total War if I didn't run into those problems this late in the games development.

Re: Empire: Total War AI Tweeks
wow...version 1.6 and still problems?
I've haven't gotten the game yet but you'd think they'd fix problems like path finding at 1.6
From what i've read it should not have been released in the state it was...
Even if it took three more months to come out it would have been better if they had focused more on playability then it looking cinematic....
They released it with the mind set....its just a few bugs we'll patch it up later...and yet a 1.6 it still has problems...and what annoys me the most is that instead of working to make it more playable and a better game....they move right on to the next one...
What are your thoughts?

Re: Empire: Total War AI Tweeks
I'm not sure my most concern is that it is supposed to be Version 1.6 and in the game it sais 1.5.0 literally 1.5.0 not even 1.5.8 or.9, 1.5.0 no where near 1.6 from the last patch that actually was 1.5? Anyways I replayed the level that had the path finding problems again last night and I didn't notice any but a game like this it's possible it just worked out that time, it could still have problems it's not so bad but if their official website sais that the 1.6 patch is out the game should not say 1.5.0?

wow.....that's just sad....you know you have a really good patch for your game when you update it to 1.6 and it says 1.5

Re: Empire: Total War AI Tweeks
I haven't bothered to looked at the version number yet but I have the fully updated version Steam provides and it still has bugs. Infact I had the slow down bug for the first time last night during a seige battle. It didn't go back to normal speed until my forces engaged the enemy.

Re: Empire: Total War AI Tweeks
If you play on large/ultra unit sizes then the AI will have more pathfinding issues.
And yes, DM improves the AI alot, although the siege AI still sucks.
EDIT: look in your data folder, if you have a patch5.pack file in there then the game is updated to 1.6, CA just forgot to change the numbering in-game.
