Default The dead of the biggest hog!!!

Today is the happiest day of my life. 1st time in 3 years playing Rome Total War, I have beaten the full stack steppe "hog" with minimal lost in VH/VH difficulty !!!
And here the result: Kill 3150, death 247 (Heroic Victory)

Take a close look at the nasty & off-course stinking barbarian !!!

Im at war with the Scythian right now, nastily engaged with them in the open steppe

And here is my Greco-Thracian Empire

Thank you for viewing this topic!!!

Now I'm interested in the army that defeated that stack. Was it something like the stack we see in the last screen shot?

    Yes it was that army

And now this is the last battle over Campus Siracae

My empire at the after the Conquest of Sarmatia

    Now I have 2 options
1st: Advance into western EU and with is very low on population because of huge army size
2nd: Advance into Asia Minor but very hard to retrain my army
    What should i choose?

He has Thrace, Greece, Sarmatia and parts of Asia Minor. Sarmatia doesnt even generate considerable income.

Greece and Asia minor would be enough to generate between 20-40k income per turn, but as he said, he has lots of armies. That should take its tool on the economy. I wouldnt know about Thrace tough.

lol that blue part in Asia Minor belongs 2 the Pontus, I just use 2 full stack as showed in screen-shots above 2 conquer Sarmatia and 6 units of Spear Warband in each settlement. All settlement has a governor and set as auto-manage. An important tip is always set auto-manage for your city but not auto-fielding army and all should be directed to Financial Growth. Try my trick, don't even try 2 manage the cities yourself (except 2 build barrack) - waste of time and effort, it will give tremendous money each turn and you don't need 2 worry about unrest problem cuz the governor will use his trait or adjusting the taxation in each city

I dont recall exactly the causes of corruption, but isnt having too many generals sitting idle in cities one of them?

Corruption has many causes. For example, distance to the capital, bad government, but also the numer of enemy monuments you have captured. Each one of them increases the corruption in your empire. That is to make it more realistic. Why? For large empires were very hard to maintain and corruption flourished, even in the Roman Empire.

What you can do to decrease the corruption is to built law temples in cities with corruption and other law buildings. Other things you can do is to have fewer standing armies or use cheaper(in upkeep) units.
