    Default Historical battles, Non-Playable factions

Is there any way to edit the game's code so that one may play as the "Non-Playable" faction in historical battles?

Also, is there anyway to edit the code to allow for saved replays of historical battles?

    Thanks.

Yes your able to play as the non - playable factions by going to(using Ascalon as an example)

    Go to
Rome - Total War\data\world\maps\battle\custom\Battle_of_Asculum(it will show a file for every battle)

    Then Click descr_battle

then cut and paste Seleucids so it should look like this

    battle BATTLE_OF_ASCULUM
    playable
    romans_senate
    seleucid
    end
    nonplayable

    end

Note:The AI sometimes behaves weirdly in some battles if your playing as the non-playable side

Due to recent cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

More than just "sometimes," in my experience. The battles are scripted to be historical. When you play as the "wrong" team, the other side generally doesn't do anything, making for a very easy win. Or maybe I'm just unlucky?
