    Default 6.2 - can't recruit light men at arms ?

    Hello, just started playing SS 6.2 (since 6.3 won't run on my machine) and in my campaign as Kingdom of León I am now in 1152 and cannot recruit light men at arms even though I have a castle (Toledo) with a drill square and blacksmith etc.

    I installed the Real Recruitment mod manually.

    Am I doing something wrong, maybe I need to wait for a certain year? Or did I install it wrong somehow ?

    Why can you not play ss6.3? corrupt download? download the torrent please....never problems with that particular download. Update your drivers and format your pc helps.

    Thats reported as working but generally the recommended way of installation is on top of a 6.1 install.

    If you're using Real Combat / Real Recruitment Compilation I'll move your topic into the subforum as questions related to RC / RR Compilation should be posted there. Regretably I can't tell you anything on the availability of the unit but someone will be able to help you out. Else you can always take a look at export_descr_buildings on the conditions for this unit - notepad++ or notepad should do fine.

    Thank you again for prompt reply. I only installed the Real Recruitment part of the mod, not the 'real combat', but I dont remember if I installed it on top of 6.1 or after I patched to 6.2...

    So about my question: I ought to be able to recruit that unit as the spanish in turn 50? Because I don't know if it's a technical problem or if the faction is maybe excluded from using that unit, or if i have to do something else... So if you tell me it's wrong that I cannot recruit it, then I can look into the technicalities, else i'll just keep playing ..

    Hold on - how did you install only the real recruitment part?

    I searched around for it and found it on some download site - it was a bit difficult to find it, since google supplied a lot of forum discussion pages but not easily a "download here" page. It's been a few days since I installed and I forgot where I found it.. but as far as I remember, there was an option to either take one or both. Maybe it was some archaic or broken version I found ?

    Can I uninstall it and start anew?

    Looks like it. RR&RC have been combined for some time now as far as I know.
    You don't happen to have that link still in your history?
    Can I uninstall it and start anew?
    I think that might be best. Just delete the folder in /mods to be sure and install 6.0, 6.1 (no options ticked) and then proceed with the RR/RC compilation.

    Well, good news is you can always repatch 6.1 without going through the complete steps again.
    Do so, repatch with the options you want, and don't apply the data fix for BGR if your not installing BGR.
    Regretably I have no clue about the light men at arms in toledo or when they will be available.

    There are some fixes needed like the pirate bug fix you will have to apply manually
    unless I'm completly mistaken. I recommend

    Problem is you are basicly downgrading to the version you want and then reimplementing the fixes for that version without the updates from the next. The price for customization.

    Ok, I solved the problem, will type it here just in case someone else is having the same problem:

    Light swordsmen become available quite late, around 1200 in SS 6.2 with RR. In 6.3 I believe they appear much earlier.
