Fellowship Campaign, Ambush on Harad Crash

I hope this hasn't been asked before, I looked around and couldn't find anything. Well, I was playing the fellowship campaign and all was going well until I got to the mission where you try to use the Ithilien Rangers to ambush the Haradian forces (the ones with the Mumakil, just outside Mordor. Anyway, whether or not the ambush attempt is successful, and whether or not I included the hobbits in the army the battle crashes right when combat engages. Not during deployment or when I press start battle, but right after the fighting starts.

As it's rather random it's hard to figure out what's going on, so I uploaded my log if that helps. Hopefully someone can figure this out. I'm also using the AUM 2.1 mod, although I don't think that changes Gondor or the Haradians at all, and if it was an animation conflict it would crash on opening the battle I think. So, any help would be greatly appreciated as I was enjoying this alternate RPG-esque way of playing Total War with this excellent mod quite a bit until this happened.

Try to attack from other tile on the campaign map.

Well, I can't really attack from a different tile very well because I won't be able to ambush them, but I suppose I'll try it.

BTW, I've already:
disabled file cache
set program to run as admin
used advice/advisor fixes

I have the same problem... .I attacked the Harad army without an ambush but this didn't change the problem...
I think it seems that nobody has any idea why it crashes... so I'm not able to finish the fellowship campaign

I kept loading it and eventually it worked, however it seems entirely random when it crashes, especially if as the above poster says, it also crashed for him when not attempting an ambush.
