    Default Hashshashin

Hey team! Thought I'd ask around and see what people's opinions would be on cool ways to implement the Hashshashin. Obviously they can't be a faction or anything but I was thinking there could be cool bonuses for who controls them, or penalties for those who annoy them. Could also be represented by strong rebels, with crazy good spies and assassins.

    Thoughts?

I'm really not sure, but we have discussed it a bit. I wonder if it is possible to have "rebel" assassins.

I think it is. I have seen rebel agents on another mod I played, but it was a merchant. Maybe if the rebels couldn't train them you guys could just give them a bunch to start with? Maybe fill their settlement with the assassins units (high stats naturally, make it a challenge!). I'm guessing Masyaf won't be a city, but maybe a PSF? Could place them in Alamut as well if you're including it, and anywhere else they were historically.

Perhaps as a guild for certain Middle-Eastern factions?

Nah, they have to be rebels because they were enemies of all the nearby factions. They had a lot of castles which could be represented by PSFs.

And they didn't exist in 1080 as of yet; they were Isma'ili Shi'ites at first, and only after the fall of the Fatimid dynasty did Hasan ibn Sabbah leave Egypt and travel the Middle East to end up in Alamut.

Can't help but wonder though, what it would be like to play as them. Maybe a faction with very limited armies, can only be used for defence. Or you recieve missions from other factions to assassinate their enemies.
I don't think we're going to include them as a faction. Doesn't really makes sense on the scale we're playing.

Yeah, I think we will find a way to represent them, but definitely not as a faction.

too small to be a faction when the faction slot could be used by a actual country, but i think the hashshashin if they have a home region, have it so if a muslim faction captures that region they can recruit the unit

    That's IF we're making them a unit.

I can't for the life of me think that there'll be a specific unit of Battlefield Assassins equivalent. Most likely they would just integrate themselves within certain regiments armed as the rest are.
