Icon6 Need Proper Integration for SubMods

Need Proper Integration for the Submods that are released and thier compatibility with other mods of the day... For novices its difficult to understand which mods chang the desc_ancillary script and etc that affects the game play... if possible all sub modders please start a new forum other than the sub mod forum ie a special one for ss 6.3 and try to make your mods toggle able so that people dont have to every time back up files to play your mods.....
Another question is that why is there so much less response to a unified mod aimed to improve the game play other than the present submods which are toggle able. i mean make a standard combination of sub mods come together with the sssetup so people can play a much greater challenging game...
thanking you all modders for your corporation.

This belongs in the sub mods forum i believe. And Im not really positive what your asking here except for all sub mods to be modded into one sub mod. that would take time and effort and may not even be possible with some of the mods, but it sorta sounds like you sent out a company order with the last cooperation bit. im too busy to do that right now though and i cant speak for others, but generally if you want something done like that, you gotta start learning.

Even so, i think it's to early to do....give it more time....submods are developing.

GAH! Your right I did! I have GOT to stop sorting people in my mind by pictures and face... it doesn't help when people don't have a face

Become like me, don't think graphically at all. But that doesn't really help, because then you're remembering key-words describing the avatar, instead of the avatar itself
Your avatar, for example, is to me "that guy from Assassin's Creed"

I was just trying to bring out a point i.e. when i tried the Heir Crown Mod and didnt take backup i had to reinstall the whole game.. my point is that if youll had a seperate forum for the sub mods of 6.3 where youll could not only make the present forum less congested but also within which modders could interact with each other regarding the compatibility of the mods with each other and simultaneously try to make them work together better... here one has to run from one page to the other to know the details of sub mods and then some people dont even cm to know y this mod does not work with the rest

Take king kongs permission and of gracul and start a new forum like PB had made for RR/RC... after all it will simplify your way to communicate with each other.. here in the present sub mods forum all of them are mixed....and if you take up initiative of making a new forum to stabilize the chaos then other modders will try to make more mods .. organisation is a must .. there are at-least 10 people who agree with me.. not only will that forum help organisation but modding tips can also be put in the forum...
Please understand what i am putting forward here.....

Sea_Snipe i was not trying to put a demand but ONLY BRING OUT A POINT that is ORGANISATION..*edited for off-topc-ness*

Getting one's own sub-forum isn't all that easy. One needs permission from people higher up than King Kong AFAIK.

neha: given the number of submods that have been released for previous versions of SS, and given the number of submods that have already been released for 6.3 in the very short time it has been released, it would take a LOT of time to make them all compatible with each other. And what if some person wants some of them, but not others? And another person wants this one, but not this other one. There would be soooo many combinations that it would be impossible to release versions to suit everybody's tastes. Modders would never be able to do any modding to make new versions or patches because they'd spend all their time making compatibility versions.

SS6.3 has gone further than any other mod in submod compatibility by the inclusion of the launcher program (thank you Gracul! ). And Meneth's compendium is utilising this already to make several submods available and compatible with each other. However as time goes by and more submods and larger and more detailed submods for 6.3 are released, it will be harder to make these compatible with each other out of the box (so to speak). It's the nature of the beast unfortunately.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience when installing a submod but it is up to the user to check for compatibility with the version of SS you are running and any other submods you are currently running. As a modder I cant read your mind as to what you have installed and plan for every eventuality. You need to check before installing or at least take backups. You, as the user of a mod (and submods) that are provided for no cost, have a responsibility as well.

Yes i know. We already have a forum for modders to communicate with each other: the submods forum. They can talk and discuss compatibility in their mod's threads there. Another forum would just double up conversation. What you seem to be asking for is for every submod to be made compatible with each other. As I explained before, that's a huge if not impossible task.
