    Default Sicilio-Norman Bodyguard

    I didnt know whether or not to post this here or in the mod help section so if neccessary please move to correct place

    Ive been trying over the last few days to change the model for Sicily's Generals Bodyguard unit to that of Norman Knights, after looking at export_descr_unit that i would need to make a new unit and assign it to only Sicily but when im truning on SS it goes onto the ttle screen and closes to windows.

    heres the code for the bodyguard unit Sicily were using originally (with Sicillian ownership removed)

    Did you delete another unit first? SS is at the 500 unit limit so you cant add more until you delete another one.

    Ah that makes sense

    EDIT: deleted Basque Archers, but still the same outcome

    I think it's because they have the same name, isn't it ?

    Also you can remove the Dismounted Turhagut unit, it's a free slot

    Tried renaming but still nothing, ty for the deletion tip

    Ive reinstalled and deleted a few units such as the Turhagut unit and it still doing the same, i havnt added any units (i dont think it likes me changing any of the code)

    Maybe you have to make the Sicilo-Norman knights un-recruitable, and delete the generals bodyguard?

    Well i managed to get it working by adding the model to the normal SE bodyguard entry but i dont want all the Southern European factions to be using it Venice, Genoa etc. would it be ok if i gave them ownership of the NE_Bodyguard and took their names off the SE ownership???

    Hmm that just brought me to something. I forget the file, but one of them defines what generals use, maybe he has to be set to use the generals body guard?

    The only file defining which general is used for each faction is the descr_strat.txt, and it's only for the starting characters of a campaign. To define the bodyguard of a faction you just have to set the general_unit attribute. Your problem is really strange in fact and I think romy has the same problem in his topic. Maybe try to modify an existing unit (like the turhaguts) instead of creating a new one ? I don't know.

    giving venice, genoa etc ownership of NE_bodyguard didnt work (still using Norman Knights model in battle) tried editing the turgharut unit aswell but still the same problem of closing to desktop on startup.

    It could do, unfortunately i wouldnt know where to start , i might just have to give up and concede defeat i think
