Default request on changing battle AI

First of all, I would like to highlight some of my impression on the current game play:

    1. the AI knows to attacks on the flanks. Many times, the AI moves their calvary to attack my archers in the back very efficiently.

    2. the AI can choose to charge on the front, right at the infantry at opportunity where no spearmen is around.

Now I would like to suggest if we can script the AI to:

    3. avoid charging calvary on spearmen

    4. retreat when a unit suffer heavy loss. I understand that when a unit retreat, it gets a higher rates of healing.

    5. for pikemen, the units can retreat and still facing enemy.

    6. the units when routed and broken, will fight to the death if the enemy pursuit and killed them. In effect, I accept that we get less prisoners.

I'm pretty sure that it's impossible u can set a unit by default to fight to death i.e. never routs but if a unit routs and is being pursued there is no way they can turn around and fight back.

That's a common thing and has nothing to do with AI behavior.
In EDU file under a unit entry place
"lock_morale" in the "stat_mental" line and they will fight to death. Also u might it's the same thing that Great cross unit uses.

I haven't modded a Battle AI but i think that's possible i.e. to plant stakes for AI archers.

I've seen the Ai doing it once. Didn't notice it so my cavalry died.

They never deploy them in setup because the buggers can deploy them at any time Against any stake-equipped archers I have to fake a cavalry charge to get them to plonk them down, them try and remember that they're there (one time I didn't and lost practically my entire cavalry group, including the general )

You can set all units to never rout by giving them impossible morales and the best morale 'traits'. This would be very odd though as realistically most casualties come after a battle from pursuing an enemy. A poorly disciplined army (conscripts for example) would flee the moment their general fell.

EDIT: There are guides all over the site about how to modify units. Good luck finding them, I have long since forgotten where they are.
