hey, have vista and a 9800 get vid card, and I wanted to see if MTW would work on it. It seems fine, except it wont let me move my men around on the battle map. any ideas? =rep for help!

I heard it was only the 8xxx series that had the problem
use an older driver than the 8xxx series

the person who wrote it did not say if it worked
The guy in the video I posted above
He had the same problem and used the mini map to control the units

It was the 8000 series of cards that first did not work with M:TW. I tried to use a 9000 series card but with no luck. I tihnk it's fair to say that it doesn't work with card releeased form the 8000 series onwards.
I had an old PC that had an ATI X400 XT card (AGP and not PCI-E) which could be used for S:TW and M:TW, unfortunately, I scrapped it a few weeks back.

I have no real idea on how you can fix this
although
perhaps
if you could find a way(I do not have vista)
try and disable direct draw acceleration
(not to worry you can enable it at anytime,
and its a must for newer games)
in xp you go to start >run> type "dxdiag"
the directx diagnostic tool will appear
click the display tap at the top
at the bottom you will see DirectDraw Acceleration
Also this is how you fix the age of empires 2 diplomacy bug
so it probably wont work for mtw
but try it anyway

Have you tried Nvidia's archived drivers, say version 73 or older? That's about when the 8000 series cardscame out.

it appears that no drivers that old are compatible with the 9800 gt. and the thing with Direct draw did not help either. dang, guess I wont be able to play the oldest TW games on my comp. +rep any way
