"When is it done" crap

First of all I would like to apologise to all of you guys due to my recent behaviour in the open fora.
I might have been a bit to harsh to some of our fans for asking about the release date. It's just that I'm getting tired to answer the same question tens of times every single day.
If I every say something stupid please feel free to edit it out of my post.

I still wish that we keep the "Set release date" thread open so that all the "crap" is at least concentrated in one single thread as is easier to deal with.
Hopefully this will soon be over, until then thanks for your patience with me.

No worries mate, I'm just about as frustrated as you, but lets keep our emotions in check for now. We're a nice and friendly team, and lets stay that way

I'm going to start being a little harsher on the complainers but do it in a jokey way if possible.

Lets keep the 'Set release date' thread and let them channel everything there. Makes it much easier to moderate.

Best way is to respond cynical or something a bit funny, but still harsh - so that they get the point, but aren't offended

I just tell them it gets pushed back every time they ask. Actually do it once (proving you did) and they'd probably not ask again.

I think at least my 'it won't be released today' updates in the morning of each day are helping a little bit. At least they have some information, and if idiots post during the day, then we have more than enough reason to take them down since we already told them it wouldn't be released today

I agree. That thread is simply a spam-fest with some flames thrown in.

As there is now an 'official update / status thread' the thread has no purpose. The fact that moderators (not RS moiderators) are having to step in is a clear sign that the thread and the posters are causing problems.

Well, we kept it for one reason, it keeps this kind of thread to only one.
If we close it, we might see dozen of such threads appears, and the same kind of conduct goes there before we close it.

To be honest, things like a forum ban until the release for repeating offenders, as Squid said, looks like a good thing.

Paedric's right, the frustration would simply spill over into other threads. It's like the problem they faced in Deep Impact. If you nuke the huge asteroid it will simply splinter into countless fragments and cause damage to a wider area.

Or like a balloon...and something bad happens.
