I just added another 512mb RAM just to be sure it would run RS2, now I have 2 RAMS both 512 mb. The problem is, whenever I run Rome TW, the screen goes white and I cannot see the camapign map,the buttons are also have black bars over them. This happened, with Vanilla,RS 1.6a, EB 1.2. HALP

All other games running just fine with no probs, My dad says that the game must somehow be set for 512mb RAM..... But these are his endless riddles which I can never seem to solve on my own

I doubt that adding RAM would affect the game like this, however, take it out and see what happens, if it goes away then you probably want to check the system information and event viewer to see if there are any reported errors on the system.

Ram should just appear as extra memory and it should be seamless to the game. Is it showing up in the system information that the extra memory is installed OK, have you check the device manager etc for any hardware conflicts?

The game most assuredly is not restricted to 512Mb, if you look through the forums you'll see people have some serious h/w - I've got 2Gb on mine and that's not much compared with others.

If you are sure that its RAM whats causing that problem, do you have same version of the RAMS? do both have same speed? does your motherboard support them both? if not they cannot cooperate together so your computer choose to use probably only the new one which is probably damaged and you have not enough place for terrain...

It could be that you are using two ram sticks from different companies and thus they are conflicting.
You should always try to use the same sticks in each slot.

Also make sure that Windows knows about the new ram and that it's correctly installed.

Both are from the Same company, I pointed RAM since its the only change ive made

I pulled out the RAM, Rome worked and everything is fine, but still I dont get it, why only RTW when everything was working fine, i also did the max windows test..
