Default [discussion]Posting in the Q&S Curial Commentary Thread

    A few points to discuss:

    • Should citizens be allowed to post in the thread?
    • How strickly should the thread be moderated?
    • Should the Curator take a more active role in moderating the thread (by reporting posts for deletion)
    • Should abuse of the thread be subject to CdeC review for behavior of citizen's posts in the thread over and beyond the normal rules for behavioral referals?
I say this after realizing that my posting a day or so ago was clearly not productive and the vast number of citizens posting there would seem to diminish the value of not citizen posts. Citizens can already post within the Curia so there is not really a pressing need for posting to the Q&S thread as well.

    1. I don't believe you are going to stop it short of Sim or GED settting it to view only for citizens.
    2. I thought the Q&S was Hex property for moderating.
    3. Anyone can hit the report button. if it needs Hex attention, there are enough moderators to send a pm with the link.
    4. The only way I see them getting involved is pass a resolution as it being one of their duties. They inheritently post here as citizens, not CDeC members.

Should citizens be allowed to post in the thread?
    1. It is an ideal place where baseline members views, opinions, and concerns regarding Curial activity may occur. Yes citizens should be allowed to post there.... constructively. Without the input of citizens answering baseline member concerns, what would be the point of the thread?

    2. No one is better than anyone else, citizen or not. So I'd say the concern should be over the topic being discussed. If it's pure spam then cut it out with a bowie knife.

You want to ban folks from posting in the most public and free forum on the TWC in one particular thread? Nonsense. The Q and S is there for everyone.

    Opposed.

I said nothing about what I wanted. That is why this is a discussion. I am however concerned that a thread meant to give noncitizens a voice in commenting on Curial matters is being overwhelmed by citizen posts.

That is a fact. If the deluge was of a constructive nature then there would be no need for a discussion. Alas as of late that seems to be not the case... Since I despise any deletions with a passion, I would hope that the curia at large could see the light and kind of switch posting strategies just a bit.

Your use of I says otherwise.

I too hate to delete but it is necessary at times and in certain situations. A pity. But I don't think that limiting the citizen pool within this thread or any other is a healthy option, particularly since it the top TWC forum (imo) with very few deletions or closures to be seen. Non-citizens do make their voices heard above the cry of that thread thankfully by either talking direct to a citizen, posting a thread in the Q and S proper, etc.

I would be in favour of an alternative. Maybe creating a new thread that they alone may post in (keep the co-ed of the current one), or perhaps opening the FM to non-citizens?

You could just make policing of the Curial commentary thread much more militant, with any off-topic posts being deleted.

I think a little more discretion should probably be used by the citizen posters, that's all
