I think it might be an interesting option to create a mod playing in the early East Mediterranean, about 800 b. C.
Sadly, I neither have enough time nor knowledge for scripting, but I really would like to do some researches in that topic

Possible factions:
-Kingdom of Assyria
-Babylon
-The Kingdoms of Israel and Juda
-The city states of Phoenicia (maybe Tyrus because it had some colonies in that area)
-Principality of Urartu (south of the Sea Van)
-The Kingdom of Lydia in todays Turkey
-A greek faction
-Elam
-And maybe Medes, Cassites or Parthians
-The Kingdom of Egypt

An ancient mesopotamian campaign will be interesting. But important to have a wider campaign map, so the Egyptian, or Lydian territories are good idea!
