Does anybody in the UK know of a particularly good shop to buy a gaming PC? I normally just buy computers etc from John Lewis but that won't do. PC World?
It's just that I'd need quite a bit of advice as my knowledge on this stuff is not extensive so I'd wanna speak to somebody that knows what they're talking about in the shop.

Nobody in your environment a tiny bit technical? Then it's just a matter of ordering the parts (cheaper) and asking someone to put it together.
