    Default Borders In Mini-Map Solution

I can't take credit for this fix, we must thank my man Basiliscus for showing us the way. For those of you like myself that want/need the borders in the mini-map on the campaign screen. Below is the fix.

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, MAKE BACK-UPS of Original Files as a rule!!!!!!

Step #1) In the "Important Stuff" folder of the MAIN "Data" Folder...find the folder "Region_borders_visible".

Step #2) COPY the file "descr_sm_factions"

Step #3) In the main RSII folder, find the faction you wish to play (Play_Sparta for example) and enter the Data folder.

Step #4) Paste the "descr_sm_factions" file over the existing file.

Open the RSII Launcher, and as always delete map.rwm before launching.

This is hardly new - people who have bene playing RS for a while know that there are some interesting bits in the '_IMPORTANT_STUFF' folder.

There is no need to keep a copy of the original files (which you are replacing) as the '_IMPORTANT_STUFF' folder has a folder called 'Region_borders_not_visible' and one called 'Region_borders_visible' - each has it's own descr_sm_factions.txt file so it's simply a matter of copying that file to where you want it.

You are correct that there are two folders, so no need to keep a copy...but there are people out there with less knowledge than you and I, whom will need some sort of direction.

Thanks for questioning this....actually just noticed that these haven't found their way into the installer....also there wasn't a separate file for the play_Rome campaign...have fixed this via SVN and on the installer thread.

This was actually never discussed or attended to for longer than I can ever remember, so I didn't include those files. And there is a reason. Each modfoldered campaign can have it's own specialized file, that invokes a particular movie, and or .wmv for factions losing.

Soooo, the Roman one is different. The One_Turn campaign is different, and so are all the others (or they will be) in some way. It was my plan to create specilized one's for each modfoldered campaign so that the specific movie for that faction could be played.
Now, if you throw in there a 'Generic' one that switches back and forth, all that's out the window. I figured that changing this is just best left to the player to figure out...it's not a big deal, and we could even SHOW them how to do it. But I don't really think we want 20+ different ways to switch these back and forth?

Wow, if I am following this correctly two of my concerns/threads "movie's/start campaign" and now the borders of the mini-map are linked to the same file (descr_sm_factions.txt)?

If I want one, I may have to do without the other?...am I following you correctly DVK?

Whatever is done is done, I just want to understand.
