Default Question about Fouth Age total war, which is a mod for Rome Total War (BI).

I was just wondering, what exactly brings Generals back into supply? When Generals get to be starving, I usually put them back into one of my cities, but that just lowers the starving to a hungry, or maybe does nothing at all.

So the question is, what is the best way to bring Generals back into supply?

There is Fail, and then there is Epic Fail. Fail can happen to anyone, no matter how hard you try. An Epic Fail however, requires a mistake so huge that the only reason the opposition can fathom as to why you did it is to think it was deliberate. - Aeros on erepublik

Put them in a settlement with farms (the higher the level, the better). And keep them there for a bit.

There are several levels of the supply traits, and even more "points value" in the trait.
Meaning when you get to the worst state, it can actually continue to grow.

    The trait looks like this.

The important stat here is Threshold.
As you can see, the trait does not change with a single point, but several points are required to reach a new level.
So while you don't see the trait changing, the value can still change.
The whole supply trait triggers is also very large and quite advanced, but as a rule you get more points in the trait (which is bad, because the more points, the worse it gets) if you move far, if you are in enemy land, if you are under siege or sieging, or moving at sea.
You decrease the points (resupplying) by staying in a city, the bigger the better, the higher farms the better and better fertility also means better effect.
You can also very slowly reduce points (resupplying) by standing still with your army, altho it is by far better to put them in a city to resupply.
You also resupply by taking a city, sacking it seems to give the biggest bonuses.

If you know how to read the traits and trait triggers, you should definetly check out the file export_descr_characther_traits.txt
Contains a lot of info, and the supply bit is clearly marked out. And there is a lot to read, someone has put a lot of effort into that trait.

You can actually resupply depending on the fertility of the region you in. Provided you don't move of course. If you win a battle as well helps. Buts that over a very quick skimming of the trait.
