Heyy
how can you tell when a unit has upgrades
some guy online said it was the flags but im still not sure![]()
Hey, Slay4496
You can see on unit card. Or press pause and double click or right click on unit.
Regards
If it is your unit, then the upgrades will be seen on the unit card in your User Interface as either a sword (weapon upgrades) a shield (armor upgrades) or chevrons (experience upgrades). these will vary in quality by being either bronze, silver or gold. In a battle, looking at a certain unit, provided you have the unit banners on, there will be little flags over the unit to symbolize how many upgrades they have. Does this help?
Here's some screens of units that have been upgraded

Here you can see the little Macedon flags.

I think the amount of little flags tell the amount of experience a unit has earned. But indeed the unit card is the most accurate.
Counted from none-upgraded/experience:
Shield:
Bronze = +1 defence
Silver = +2 defence
Gold = +3 defence
Sword:
Bronze = +1 attack
Silver = +2 attack
Gold = +3 attack
Experience:
1 stripe bronze = +1 attack and defence
2 stripes bronze = +2 attack and defence
3 stripes bronze = +3 attack and defence
1 stripe silver = +4 attack and defence
2 stripes silver = +5 attack and defence
3 stripes silver = +6 attack and defence
1 stripe gold = +7 attack and defence
2 stripes gold = +8 attack and defence
3 stripes gold = +9 attack and defence
Each stripe of experience also adds a certain amount of morale and stamina.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Each little flag on a unit, like the picture shown represents a single upgrade or experience.
No idea why some people are talking about unit cards, when he's asked specifically about flags.
Any way to flaunt your own ignorance I guess.
Smilies...the resort of those with a vacuous argument

This is what was posted:

Where is an enemy unit even mentioned in that?
The only mention of online is that someone told the OP that - not that it was for an MP game.
Clearly, it's possible to take multiple meanings from the details as posted......

He can't possibly be so weak that he does not know about his own unit cards. The moment i bought an upgrade for the first time back in 04 I realized that the things show up as a little bronze, silver or yellow thing on its card. He said he plays online and you can not see the enemy's unit cards online. Hence he must be told about the little flags first and foremost.
And why are we making such an argument out of this. This thread should have died after gaedhel wanderer explained both ways to him.

I've just seen this thread - the first post in particular:

While there isn't anythng vague about the question raised - it does make you wonder about some posters.
