Well, I spent almost this whole morning extracting the sound bytes, modifying them, and testing them. If this is going to be implemented into SPQR 5.0, I will definetly have the motivation to keep it up. Whatcha think of the new sounds?

Is it possible to turn the vanilla music into mp3 files?

sound good but the warcry is a lot longer than 3secs.

No, they just say it briefly, over the music.

Its the group warcry that is longer than 3 seconds. What you are hearing is the individual tuant that immediatly follows after the warcry.

oh oh. i thought you were edditing the warcry itself.

in that case they sound good. and it would be even better if you include them WHILE keeping the "vanilla" ones.
so we hear more sounds and not the same ones over and over again

Il ike them as long as the volumes match and it fits its better than Stinking RATS. LOL You think they would say I am going to gut and eat you or something. ;-) I would love to change the Roman taunts they are weak also.

I'm not adding to the warcry. I merely replacing the audio files with something new. The Groups Warcries will be modified.

All of the Taunts are lame in Rome TW, but the barbarian one is the most commonly heard one.

The medium barb infantry does say "I'll slice your neck." But its such a corny voice that it sounds really dumb.

I find it curious how CA would spend thousands of dollars on dynamic sounds such as marching footsteps over different terrain, sword hits, shield bashes, etc. but only have 3-4 people do the voice audio for the entire game (plus the people that did the audio were probably just some lame programmers)

Maybe after I complete the taunts by for the Barbs I'll slowly work on the Romans. I'm a little low on ideas for the romans at this time.

VERY nice work N.H., I usually play with sound off, but my god CA's taunts sound like something out of a corny super-hero movie from the 60's-70's.

I think there is also a possibility to not only replace the existing group warcry, but also to add new ones so that you don't hear the same thing over and over. Right now, there are 4 group warcries for barbs. There is 2 for a large group, 1 for a medium group, and 1 for a small group. I'm pretty sure I can make more.

I don't plan on doing anything for eastern factions. Barbs are #1 priority for me, then romans if I ever get around to it.
