That is what I am looking for today.

I have spent the past 15 minutes browsing these two sites: http://www.writingforums.com/ and http://www.writersbeat.com/. I am disappointed. I keep seeing fan fiction threads... Threads about full moons and vampires, elves and space marines, and people trying way too hard to be original.

"My work can't be classified as 'poetry' or 'fiction', man. It's not contained by your definitions." No it is, and starting a new paragraph after every period does not mean you've invented a new form of art.

    Christ.

Maybe I'll find gems as I dig deeper, but do you know of any sites that have a higher quality of membership? I write a lot currently as a liberal arts student, and I want to practice and have anonymous people read and comment on my stuff. I think returning the favor would help me too. I'm interested in doing articles and reviews, exercises in critical thinking to prep me for my end-of-term papers, and little bits of fiction for fun.

But I can't, I can't read one more story about goddamn werewolves.

Did some say 'space marines' ? The nerds of Warhammer 40K are going to love this.

Thanks hombre. I registered, but didn't feel comfortable giving my entire name.

    Anyway check this out...

    ‘The Ventriloquist’

After the symposium, to which the most famous ENT specialists and the most famous deaf-mutes had been invited so as to admire a modern and reliable hearing aid and perhaps above all to be encouraged to popularize that modern and reliable hearing aid among the other ENT specialists and the other deaf-mutes, we went to a banquet being a perfect occasion for the long debates about modernness and reliableness of the presented hearing aid. To ENT specialists’ astonishment and to astonishment of deaf-mutes, whom ENT specialists had offered their help, bringing them glasses of champagne and plates of banqueting dishes and also closing them in a circle of laryngoscopic conversations, a professional ventriloquist appeared on a banquet. The professional ventriloquist with the mouth of a professional puppet played an amusing skit upon an ENT specialist and a deaf-mute, written specially for the postsymposiac banquet; however, the most famous deaf-mute persons, by contrast with the most famous ENT specialists, kept a straight face and did not laugh at the professional ventriloquist’s jokes, justifying their conduct on the grounds of a total unfeasibility of hearing what the professional ventriloquist said with the mouths of a professional puppet. Considering the fact that the professional velintroquist was able to speak without moving his lips, we suggested that he should be silent, moving his lips and, in the process, allow deaf-mutes to hear his amusing skit. The velintroquist informed us with sadness that he cannot do it. In this situation, the most important of the most famous ENT specialists and the most important of the most famous deaf-mutes were compelled to turn the artist out of the banquet.
    I couldn't stop laughing.
