    Default Musketeers and late musketeers

Im just curious, why is the point of "late musketeers" unit? It has lower ranged demage than "Musketeers" (about 20) and they don't have "long range missles" trait.

To sum up, why I should train them instead of basic musketeers?

Could it be that the late ones are more accurate?

    They have a faster rate-of-fire.

In a time where the tactics consisted of lining up in front of eachother and shooting away, range or accuracy wasn't all that important. Rate-of-Fire was a major factor in winning battles then.

That being said, I don't think I've ever played far enough to gain either units, so I can't say if the faster rate of fire really is worth it.

Why not just have Arquebuses as the early gunner role and musketeers as the late gunner role? Why do we have to unnecessarily add two extra units? Same goes for pikemen. Pike militia can fill the early pikemen role while pikemen themselves are the heavy pikemen role.

but we still need one of the modders to tell us the difference between late and regular musketeers

As already stated, the Late Musketeers have less range and damage, but fire faster.
The Late Musketeers also fire a different sort of bullet, which is more accurate and have more mass. Finally, the Late Musketeers aren't affected by rain, which the normal Musketeers are (possibly an error)

I agree, that would also free up more unit slots for the Georgia project that is ongoing....

I really do think that the late pikemen/musketeers and some other units could be axed in favor of others.
