Default please select an item from the list...

    Hello,

I have RTW and all its expansions patched to the maximum (1.5, 1.6, alex' 1.9).

I tinkered the files of a mod and created an installer for personnal use, which installs itself in the right folder.

Then whenever i try and start a campaign i get this dreaded message, and -show_err doesnt add any error message. ALl the files i put into my installer did copy themselves into the right folders.

So the question is... what can i do to bypass this problem.

    Thanks.

    Did you delete the map.rwm?

Could you start a campaign with it before you made the installer?

The message 'please select an item from the list' indicates that the game is not patched to the level that you think it is.

What version does the game show? It's on the top right hand side of the options menu. That is the real version that you are running.

Been gaming on PC for 20 years now, so if i tell you its fully patched, trust me that i manually patched the game myself (for the 20th time since i own it i might add) and i possess all the expansions, and all the patches are stored on my PC, and i can run all the mods i want.

Now the problem occurs that i changed some infos in descr_strat and descr_regions while the mod was installed; i then deleted map.rwm to "update" the game and it worked fine.

Then what i wanted to do is keep those modified files and map.rwm for future desinstallation/reinstallation of this mod, and when i reinstalled the mod fresh and then copied my modified files over (including the "updated" map.rwm), it didn't work anymore.

I understand there is some conflict... but i fail to see where and the patch version doesn't seem to be the problem.

Did you check to see the version in-game?
