Anyone hate when you Heir only has girls?

I have my faction heir, he is an eight star nine chiv General, with no bad traits, plenty of good traits his wife was an eight heart, pretty woman with high intellect and he seems to have only girls. I have 6 regions and 5 generals and this is driving me mad! Why do good Generals always have no kids or girls and the not so good ones end up producing 50 kids?

I'd wait for the girls to grow up and then send them on a "scenic cruise" of the ocean's local pirate hangouts...if you get my drift

Or you could just wait till they join a Convent, that way there is less crowding in you family tree.

there is a 50-50 chance for either sex and, to my knowledge, it is hardcoded... the maximum number of kids can be adjusted in the descr_campaign_db.xml that can be found in the /data folder of your SS.63 installation... remember that you need Notepad2 or similar to open that file... I usually save the game directly after marriage and then play a turn and reload until the first kid is a male, just so that at least one male descendant have been conceived...

and remember to make a backup of the file before you alter ANY OF IT!!!

So far only 2 girls but he is 40.. the new age process really is a punching my family tree. Tho I got upset when I had a nine heart, insatiable, attractive woman marry a prolific general and it ends up with the infertile debuff.. ARG

Maybe she was so stuck up that he thought it wasn't worth it . Or his first and only love is war.

at least with girls you can choose who they marry - no guarantee though that they'll stay with your faction if you marry them off to some general from another faction.

As general becomes more likable (higher stat values), the chance of female offspring goes up 5% per turn...

As the Roman Empire I'm having a problem
now because my people demand a Kommenis to be their leader but my factin heir
has no children with his Kievan Princess...Of corse he does
have 4 adopted kids who are all being made heir ahead of the original emperor's 2nd and 3rd born sons who

Yup! It works quite strangely actually. My general who married a geonese princess had children with only the sicilian blood trait. But my daughte who married a geonese general had a daughter with both geonese and sicilian blood, and the daughter married a venetian general who in turn had all boys with venetian, sicilian, and geonese blood!

Infertile has no effect in game.

I also wonder, how can you be so certain about this? Simply stating it has no effect doesn't actually prove something. In my Norway campaign, i gave a bunch of "Infertile" traits to one of my adopted generals to make sure he wouldn't eventually overthrow my main line, and he never did have any children. Would CA really put things in the game that have no effect?

Everybody has a project in his basement that he would like to finish or that he started 15 years ago.
Now imagine a programmer working on a feature and then glancing up at the calendar to see the release date near and to feel the coffeebreath of his boss down his neck. "Simmons, bug 2425 is still not fixed. What the hell are you still doing on that fertility feature! We can leave that for later." So Simmons, beeing the good programmer that he is, finishes the line and the basic implementation, adds a comment in the function "here be code so that thing actually does something" and then works on something else and it stays like that until the release day. After that Simmons contract ends and a small bugfixing team "We can leave that for 2.0" prioritizes the rest of the implementation away.

I'm just using the fertility system as an example - I've no idea if that actually happened only that it does happen in similar situtions
