    Default Late Campaign Factions

I need some help choosing a faction for the late campaign. I like to have a small kingdom and only expand a bit, i prefer fighting proxy wars more than going and and just taking territorys. Any suggestions?

Sicily. If they exist. I can't remember
Or the teutons. First you have to fight 3ish major battles against rebels and then a war with lithuania, but not many settlements at all.

Teutonic Order was my first choice, but they don't have good gunpwoder units and even if i am fighting proxy wars, i do want to still have a large enough army to fend off a small invasion. If i face armies who have musketeers, ill be out-calssed. Sicily is a good choice though

Venice or Aragon, my two favorite factions.

EDIT: Sicily is gone in Late Era BTW, though they are another favorite faction of mine.

Another problem with playing the Teutons is that the campaign map is laggy. Is there a fix to that?

Perhaps turning off campaign shadows? That was the fix for 6.1. I wouldn't be surprised if it was still the case. Eastern Europe is always laggy with shadows on.

Oh Venice is definitely a good choice. Just take over Italy and sit tight. You can go around taking bits and pieces then gifting them away or selling them, while always having a very real threat up north or on any islands you might have. They've got a good late roster too.

Genoa's similar though I prefer Venice mainly because they have stradiots which are excellent light cavalry in the late period, and I prefer Venice's position.
