    Default third weapon

    its possible to have 3 weapons?

    in EDU we've

    ; stat_ter As per stat_pri If there is no ternary weapon, then there are no ternary data entries
    ; stat_ter_ex as per stat_pri_ex
    ; stat_ter_attr As per stat_pri_attr

    so its possible to have like naptha bomb as first, than musket as second and melee for third (2h axe or such) ?

    Common sense removed due being Disruptive.

    Only seems to work for certain artillery units, or maybe all of them.

    The issue with individual soldiers is that they can only have 2 animations. You can't include a thrown weapon if you still want them to be able to shoot and melee.

    The second type of ammo could be some kind of buckshot though, I suppose.

    well my idea was combine this with my mod bayonet animation by

    throw it (1time or 2) than switch to musket and bayonet for melee in edu its easy to added new attack weapon using stat_ter my doubt its add this on battle_models

    default now is

    16 MTW2_Fast_Musket
    12 MTW2_Bayonet 1
    19 MTW2_Musket_Primary 1
    19 MTW2_2H_Axe_primary


    how to mix with

    17 MTW2_Fast_Javelin
    20 MTW2_Non_Shield_Fast 1
    20 MTW2_Javelin_primary 1
    18 MTW2_Sword_Primary

    from naffatun, using javelin animation for throw naphta (wich i pretend to turn into grenade for the grenadiers).

    making it by order

    grenade + musket + bayonet

    any ideas?

    ...this is lame by only working of artillery

    well two animations its better than only one or none

    Sorry to recycle this thread, I would know if its possible to limit the number of javelins, I would have the same limitation as the roman legionnaries, in RTW.
    Remember, they had 1 javelins by soldier for one battle, not a lot of javelins as in MTW2.

    So I had decreased at minimum the number:

    stat_pri 14, 1, javelin, 55, 2, thrown, missile_mechanical, piercing, spear, 25, 1.2

    I have counted the number of projectiles with this limit: 2 but there are many more than 2 javelins by soldier in battle.

    When I decrease to 1, simply CTD, back to windows...

    Maybe there are another text file to change it??

    In RTW here is the entry for princeps
    stat_pri 11, 2, pilum, 35, 2, thrown, blade, piercing, spear, 25 ,1
    stat_pri_attr prec, thrown ap

    As you can see the number of projectiles is still 2, but there is a reason why you say that "they throw more than 2" in M2TW. It is because of the animation, in the vanilla M2TW javelin throw animation each soldier fire as he pleases, they are not coordinated, so it looks like they are firing more javelins when actually it is just less soldiers firing at the same time, so they take a lot longer to fire 2 javelins per each soldier. There is no way for giving only 1 javelin as far as i know, even in RTW the limit was 2.

    There are some mods like SS, DLV or PI who have fixed this animation so the unit fire at the same time and more quickly. Hope it helps.
