    Default Annoying traits very frequent

I decided to create (yet another) thread about why is it that as the Romani I seem to have an abundance, I would say well over 50%, of certain traits, such as:

''epic poet'' - Almost all my characters have it.
    ''womaniser'' - Same.
''blatant adulterer'' - Pretty much all my family members.
''worships gladiators'' - I noticed in cities with ''Coloseums'' built in them.
''hates the gods'' - A very very annoying trait that is spreading and is causing unrest problems.
''luxuriosos'' - Again, I actually think all of my governers have this.
''nota censoria'' - Another one all my governors have.

Is there a reason in particular all this traits are a lot more common than 'faithful', or 'reverent' and so forth.

Is the trigger for these traits in export.decr.character.traits?

Your empire is infested with corruption and bad management. That's what triggers almost all those traits.
Everyone has got too much money on their hands.

Manage your empire better, and you'll get better traits.

How do you suggest I do that?

Well first of all, try not to have to much money in your coffers

If you're swimming in money, recruit a powerful navy. That's should get some of your money out of circulation. If you have to much money, your FM's become currupt, luxurious, they get the nota censoria etc.

Also, make sure your governors always have stuff to build, that they recruit units etc... These are all things that can help to carv out a the character of a character

Also build schools and academies and keep younger faction members in Rome so they can have careers.

All good points, but I have already built schools up to academy levels in like 80% of settlements. I usually have 50K left over, which I can reduce if needed. But is that really necessary?

50k already gives some bad traits... Not as much as 100 or 200 tough

I can see why extra money gives bad traits, but I also have maxed out religious and education buildings, but they still seem to come out hating the gods or atheists and stuff like that.

It's possible the education buildings are counteracting the religious buildings.

Haha is that even possible? I thought they would end up as good administrators instead.

You have to balance things a bit. Maxing out everything, always only leads to this kind of traits. That's logical.

Look at Roman history. Find me 10 people who didn't have at least one of those traits.

Its not really logical at all that academy + maxed out temples = greedy luxurious god hating idiots. I would not mind atheist at worst, or rational even, and perhaps a Marcus Aurelius type figure at best, rational, philosophical, a good administrator, even if not very pious, not the exact opposite. Whats the point of building and spending money on buildings which give 'good' bonuses if they instead unbalance your game?

Also, its not a case of ''name one historical character who didn't have one of those traits'' - nearly all my fm's have at least 3 of those traits, which wouldnt normally be a problem, if it werent for the fact im investing in academies precisely to stem that kind of behaviour and wantomness lol

Well, most of the times you have a 10\15% chance to have a brilliant person, the rest will be garbage but that's Rome for you

    "Annoying traits very frequent"

I find this is true of almost any group of human beings I encounter. Another example of the extraordinary realism of EB!
When almost every person who can spell, can and will write, what is to be done? The world will be flooded with ersatz wisdom! How will we tell the gems from the junk?

I'm inclined to agree with you there Atilius, but when its a massively unrest-causing trait like ''hates the gods'' its a bit hard to ignore lol.

Well, maybe the huge massive awesome temples block the view of the Family Member's balcony.

When you wake up, you want to see your beautiful city, not the side wall of a massive temple.

I have millions of sesterces in the bank so most of my Family have bad traits, haha.

Im thinking about just making a huge navy, since that costs a bomb.

I had a really weird one earlier, I noticed all my FMs had "Killed by Sabbeans. This man is dead" as a trait. I'll try to take a screenie next time I think to,
