    Default Problem trying to play

    Hi guys,

I downloaded this mod to give it a shot as it looks pretty interesting.

Issue is i've read through the instructions and installed both parts of 3.0 and 4.2 correctly to he right paths in my programs files.

However when loading the game i get an error message saying encounted a unspecified error. Im using windows 7 64bit and i made sure the files were installed to correct progams folder.

wonder if anyone can enlighten me.

Did you install it in Program Files (x86)?
    It's a common mistake.

yeah i did, well im having problems with my hardrive at the momment it's faulty need to replace possible answer to my question however gave it ago on my laptop same problem.

now i installed the mod 3.0 into my program files 86/SEGA/Medieval II:total war folder.

After doing so installed 4.2 into correct folder paths.

    then the hotfix.

what happens is it will begin to load and then hand loading then i will get the error message.

when trying to play kingdoms not using the mod directory it hangs on loading and wont progress further.

Looking into the task manager it says its not repsonding.

I have the same OP and havn't had any such problems.... and you dont need to install any hotfix with 4.2 as its already incorperated (unless its the menu crash one). Are there any further details you could give?

have you got kingdoms (stupid question I know)
and if you've double checked the directory by going there in explorer then there shouldnt be a problem
Cause I have no idea, I would just wait till you get a new hard drive

What version of M2TW and Kingdoms do you own? did you buy it boxed or download it?

Digital download versions will not work with this mod.

As dave has stated D2D versions do not work with mods steam versions can be easily tricked to run mods.

Side note as for win7 my advice if you are the lone user of the pc (or even if the other users are not complete idiots) i advise you to turn off UAC ( user account control ) this is a new saftey program for windows that hides core files so that you can not destroy programs by messing with there files as a modder i mess with files so it is a must to turn this off. also a must to turn it off as UAC splits up the installation of mods nd as such can make them not work as it will try to refrence files that the uac will have hidden away from the rest of the files but this doesnt then read them for the game as there not in the right place So turn it off (Proud user of win7 ultimate 64 bit os)

Ah. Thanks for the info Soul Firez about Windows 7 splitting up/hiding some of the installation files. That explains why I found that happening when I installed some games when I first got my new computer.
