Good side crusade

Would it make sense for a new version of TATW that they can call a "defence" thing to match the dark side's invasion. I would really like it if the good factions could unite against evil in some way

Like for example (from the lore) when the elves come to Rohan's aid at Helm's deep, when the Rohirrim ride for Minas Tirith, or even when the elves and dwarves fight together in the north in BFME 2.

Then, if Minas Tirith was threatened, Gondor could call a defence there, and the other good factions would be asked to help

I would really appreciate comments, or

The proble is that the good factions are all based on different cultures, which means we could only let for example make this "jihad" for one faction...

I have a posible solution to aid on invasions for the good side. Every "good" faction could have an event when sauron launches an invasion that asks to his king to support the defence of the invaded city. Then you can choose from 4 options, a big army, a medium army, a small army,or no help at all. Every option with a different price in gold. The message will pop up again if you choosed no help, while the invasion is running if you change your mind, perhaps because you have lot of money now...

Then an army is automatically constructed (spawned) and the control is given to the invaded faction. When the invasion is stoped (defeated or not defeated) this expeditionary army is disbanded automatically.
I dont know how it will work with the AI... maybe a script is needed to send the expeditionary force near the city if the invasion target is AI controlled.
Also AI would send help according to his diplomatic relations with the invaded faction.

well it could be a posible solution to this. I think, good side needs to respond with something like a "yihad" to balance the game.

Yes!!!! I'd like very much a counter-invasion option!!! Something to reclaim the lost territories and call the good factions to arms!! It's also something to balance the aggressiveness of Mordor & Co.

Yes, but it would make sense for Rohan to aid Gondor and possibly the free peoples and vice versa?

Scrub that, forgot men also have different cultures

One possibility would be to combine some Cultures. For example making the Dwarf and Dale culture "Dwarves and Dalesmen" and Rohan and Gondor's "Men of Rohan and Gondor". That way the factions that did help each other in the lore could so so through some sort of crusade/jihad system.

It's a good idea, I'd like to see it implimented, but as AB said, all Evil factions join because they are the same culture, Good factions arn't..save maybe Eriador and Rohan are Northman, but then when Eriador changes to Arnor they become Dunedain like Gondor..so it'll vary to much

That is'nt techinally true to lore, Elves never came to Rohans aid in the book. That was a movie add-on that Peter Jackson done to show the sacrafice elves made during the war

As mentioned above it has been discussed numerous times. And I think everyone feels it's a good idea to have something to counter the invasions.

Either way, if necessary, I think that the entire culture system should be changed to religion, and only good/bad, to make a thing like this work
